About me and my therapy practice

I am a dedicated person-centred counsellor who believes in the power of empathy and understanding. My approach to therapy is personalised; I take the time to listen and adapt our sessions to fit your specific needs and circumstances. Recognising that each individual’s journey is unique, I work alongside you at your own pace, ensuring that you feel safe and supported throughout the process.

I specialise in helping clients navigate a wide range of challenges, including anxiety that can feel overwhelming, depression that may cloud your daily life, low self-esteem that affects your sense of self-worth, and lack of confidence that hinders personal and professional growth. Additionally, I address complex relationship issues, which can be a source of significant emotional distress.

To enhance my practice, I have pursued further training in areas that require particular sensitivity, such as pre-trial therapy, which prepares individuals for the legal process, and male sexual abuse, recognising the unique experiences and needs of male survivors. I also have expertise in trauma counselling, providing support to those who have faced deeply distressing events. Furthermore, I am equipped to assist adults whose children have been victims of sexual abuse, offering compassionate support during these difficult times. My goal is to create a safe and compassionate space where you can explore your feelings and experiences, facilitating your journey towards healing and personal growth.

I’m pleased to share that I have now qualified in Critical Incident Stress Management. This training has equipped me to better support individuals during their most challenging times, and I’m truly dedicated to providing compassionate care in those moments of need.

Practice description

I provide face-to-face, online, and telephone counselling services. As a trained Person-Centred therapist, I effectively integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to empower my clients in understanding their journey and the vital connection between the mind and body. Additionally, I confidently apply creative techniques and solution-focused approaches when they align with my clients’ needs for optimal results.

My first session

In our initial session, we will focus on assessment and engage in a collaborative process designed to help us get to know one another better. This foundational meeting is not just about gathering information; it’s an opportunity for you to express your thoughts, feelings, and concerns in a safe environment. I will customise our sessions based on your unique needs and priorities, ensuring that the agenda reflects what matters most to you.

Throughout our time together, we will create a space that allows you to delve into the aspects of your life that feel particularly challenging or complex. Together, we will uncover the underlying motivations that drive your behaviours and emotions. This exploration will enable us to identify areas for change, fostering personal growth and development.

It’s important to recognise that therapy is a journey that requires courage and vulnerability. While our sessions will support you in navigating your challenges, the work doesn’t end when our time together concludes. My hope is that by the end of our collaboration, you will leave equipped with a diverse set of coping strategies and practical tools that you can apply in your everyday life, empowering you to move forward with confidence.
