About me and my therapy practice
I’m a psychotherapist interested in wellbeing, care and justice. I have over 15 years of experience of supporting the mental health and wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities. My intention is to co-create therapeutic spaces where people can heal, (un)learn and imagine.
Alongside my clinical work in private and community settings, I conduct research and teach. I enjoy collaborating with organisations who share a motivation for disrupting normative narratives about mental health and nurture more expansive experiences of wellbeing.
I completed my MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Minster Centre, I am registered with UKCP and am a practitioner member of the Black, African and Asian Therapy Network (BAATN).
Practice description
Psychotherapy with me might involve unpacking intergenerational cycles, early relationships and family dynamics. And it might mean going beyond words to grapple with the clues and sensations hidden in - and expressed through - the body. Or going beyond linear ideas of time to explore experiences of anticipation, regret, hope and (almost) memories as they play out in the present. Sometimes it might just mean being with ordinary everyday heartaches.
My intention isn’t to ‘fix problems’ like anxiety, shame and grief. Instead, it’s to attend to them with care as we expand moments of connection and peace in real time. Together, we’ll move between and within your inner worlds and the wider socio-political context in recognition of the impact that structural injustices have on wellbeing, particularly for marginalised groups. As we experiment with these moments in the therapy room, new possibilities open up outside.
I work with people from all backgrounds but I’m particularly committed to supporting therapists and other caring professionals of colour who are navigating personal and collective spirals of wellbeing.
I work online and in two locations (Caledonian Road and Holloway)
