Sometimes life can be so overwhelming that we do not know how to cope or where to turn. Talking to a professional in confidence may help you to understand and acknowledge the feelings you are experiencing and enable you to begin to move forward in your life.
In psychosynthesis, we have the concept of Anamcara or 鈥渟oul friend鈥, someone who as your psychotherapist acts as a guide or fellow traveller, someone who 鈥渒nows鈥 the territory of the world inhabited by the psyche. So in a safe, confidential space, I will be travelling alongside you and explore your painful and difficult feelings and gain insight into how past experiences may have shaped you. This insight can lead to a profound change and growth and help you to deal much more effectively with emotional problems.
Examining your personal story could bring to light what it is that no longer makes sense to you and makes you feel unhappy. Together we will discover who you really are, exploring the conflicts, challenges and issues that are holding you back from experiencing a fulfilled life.
I offer you the time, attention and respect necessary to explore, discover and help you with your difficulties. I will encourage and support you to access your own resources to help you make the choices required towards greater self-awareness.
My first session
I offer a free 30 minute session over the telephone or zoom to see if I am the right person for you.
We will go over what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to work on. This may be just talking and releasing what you've been holding in for a while or it could be creating a plan of action with setting goals in a time frame you would like to work towards.

My first session
In your first session the focus will be us building a shared picture of you and your life. I will ask you a range of questions about you (childhood, family & friends, relationships, work, health, etc.) that help me place you and your need for therapy in a context. This will enable me to 'meet' you and serve as a starting point for the work that follows.
After this session if you would like to continue we can agree to another 5 sessions during which, holding your issue(s) in the foreground, we begin to explore how you navigate the world around you, respond to highs and lows, and make the choices you do or feel compelled to. We review the work again around the sixth session and then (and at other regular intervals) you can decide if you wish to continue for a longer period of time, fixed or open ended.

We will go over what has brought you to therapy and what you would like to work on. This may be just talking and releasing what you've been holding in for a while or it could be creating a plan of action with setting goals in a time frame you would like to work towards.
We will then discuss how often you would like to have sessions and what moving forward will look like. We will have check-ins throughout the process to monitor or modify the work we are doing together.

Practice description
Sessions would employ various ways of bringing you more fully into awareness of the difficulties you are facing and enable you to tap into the unexpressed power and potential you possess, working with among other things, memory, imagination, visualisation, breath and the body and emotion. I work with what you bring trusting that you are the expert on your life. However, I will also inquire further into and challenge beliefs and ideas you hold about yourself and the world, inviting you to share as much as you can of your mental, physical, and emotional experience as we go along.
Psychosynthesis views the person and the identity as limited by the wounds that the events of our childhoods and adult lives have inflicted, and also as a soul on a journey, here to learn from these and experience all that we can become; to love and be loved.
