About me and my therapy practice

As a humanistic therapist I believe that we are able to live fulfilled lives, where we can connect with the full spectrum of feelings, understand our thoughts and behaviours, and have healthy relationships. Experiences that have happened to us, or sometimes to our parents, society or culture as a whole, can disrupt our ability to feel, think, be and relate, resulting being stuck in anxiety, depression or low self-esteem.

Talking about problems that we know we have or allowing space for them to emerge is one way of being able to feel alive again, finding the flow of your life rather than crashing about in our own storm or get dragged into others.  We might work with your body, exploring emotions, movement, parts of you and how you speak to yourself.

If what you have read resonates and you feel ready to make changes in your life, please reach out to me to discuss how we can work together.

Practice description

Currently I am offering short term work of up to 24 session / 6 months.  Towards the end of this time we can review the work and agree how we will work together going forward.

We can meet in person at a lovely space in Redland, Bedminster or Old Market in Bristol. Alternatively we can work online. I believe that meeting weekly for a 50 minute session will allow us to maintain momentum on the work, keep connected and allow space between sessions for you to work on what's come up in therapy.

My first session

We can have a short introductory call if you wish, contact me and we can set something up.  This call will allow us to speak about what you're hoping for from therapy, answer any questions you have and see if we feel like we fit.

In a first full 50 minute session I will ask some questions about you, an assessment of sorts that is fluid and adapted to your needs.  I will take notes on my laptop, which I do not do in any other session, and you will have space to ask questions on how we will work.

About me and my therapy practice

As a humanistic psychotherapist and counsellor I believe that we are able to live fulfilled lives, where we can connect with the full spectrum of feelings, understand our thoughts and behaviours, and have healthy relationships.

Experiences that have happened to us, or sometimes to our parents, society or culture as a whole, can disrupt our ability to feel, think, be and relate.  Talking about problems that we know we have or allowing space for them to emerge is one way of being able to feel alive again, finding the flow of your life rather than crashing about in our own storm or get dragged into others with a sense of being out of control.

I believe there is real value in connecting as humans, being listened to and allowed to have the space to fully feel, think and listen to our body, or to learn what your emotions, thoughts and behaviours are and how to be with them.

Working holistically means we also focus on the body and how to listen to it.  This could be how to notice our instinctual reactions be that fight, flight, freeze or fawn responses to life situations.  Also how social, cultural or political issues impact on you and how you can work with them.

We can work together on a weekly basis, for a 50 minute session, to unearth the core of what you are experiencing and find a way to have more flexibility in life.
