About me and my therapy practice
I am excited to work with as many individuals as I can and I am really enjoying the expansion into London. This allows me to gain even more experience in the field of mental health.
I will always strive to dial up the volume on the inner voice of compassion and dial down the volume of the critical voice. I strive to work helping clients to understand their value from within. I listen with empathy and without judgement to ensure clients feel heard and understood.

Practice description
I endeavour always to put my clients first. I may at times invite you and encourage you to dig a little deeper to find meaning. My aim is to help heighten my client's awareness of their own process. This will be different for everyone and sometimes clients may just want a few sessions and sometimes this can be a longer process. I ensure to work always at the clients own pace.
My first session
Assessment
Our first session together is a bit different from a counselling session in that it tends to be a little more directive than a usual. I will take notes throughout the assessment. This appointment is designed to help me understand what brings you to therapy but also to give me a good idea of your general mental and physical wellbeing. It can also be an opportunity to establish, perhaps, any goals you might have for therapy. The assessment is a moment to reflect and understand if we are a good fit to continue working together going forward. All sessions take up to the duration of 50 minuites.

My working hours are,
- Tuesday - 9-30am - 11.30am.
- Wednesday - 10.00am - 16.00pm.
- Thursday - 13:00pm - 19:00pm.
- Friday - 10:00am - 19:00pm.
I have some availability for new clients.
I will be on summer vacation from the 2nd - 1st August 2025. I will provide between 7 to 14 days notice of any unplanned holidays or days off and reschedule your next appointment accordingly.

Do you feel unheard? Maybe you’re experiencing anxiety or depression. Perhaps you are living with past or present trauma, bereavement?
Reaching out for counselling can feel scary and my role as your therapist is to really listen and guide you through this process with care, compassion and courage. You can expect a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space to share whatever you are experiencing. We can explore at a pace that you are comfortable with.
I practice humanistic integrative counselling. I am a registered member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ and I am ICO registered. I hold an up-to-date DBS certificate.
I use Gestalt and Existential models within a person-centred approach (happy to explain what this means if you want to understand this a bit more) and sometimes I may introduce creative skills to help us identify personal values/motivations and ideas.
My Experience
I have worked counselling people living with terminal illness and coping with bereavement and loss. In addition, I have helped over 70 clients internationally with a wide variety of mental health needs. I have to date received many highly positive reviews. Alongside this I run my private practice here in Tunbridge Wells and as of October 2025 I will be expanding my practice to a North London https://www.northlondontherapygoldersgreen.co.uk/therapists/louisetherapistnw11 office on Friday mornings. I have also spent time as a volunteer, giving over 100 hours of counselling, supporting unpaid carers. I have seen first-hand the many levels of trauma often caused by these big life events. I have spent time working with people who are struggling in areas such as the Arts giving low-cost counselling to people living with mental ill health in the creative industries. To date. Even with extensive experience in counselling I am forever learning about people, and it keeps me challenged and excited to go to work every day.

My first session
After our initial contact over the phone or via email if we decide to move forward I will forward you the contract to read and sign and send back to me along with 2 other documents (to be explained in our initial contact). We will also take this time to find a time and day that suits us both for your assessment.
Your assessment is a little bit different from a normal counselling session as I will be taking notes through to ascertain you emotional, social, financial and physical health to guide me in how best I can help you. If there's time we will also complete 9 core questions based on your mental well-being. In total this will all take 50 minutes and there after each session will last this same duration.
