About me and my therapy practice
As a highly experienced, fully qualified, and registered counsellor, I recognise that taking the first step and confronting life’s challenges can often feel daunting and overwhelming. My role is to guide and support you through this process with care and expertise.
Counselling is a transformative journey that can evoke a mixture of emotions—excitement about change and perhaps some anxiety as you step outside your comfort zone. By working together, I will help you navigate these feelings and foster positive growth and meaningful change.
Please feel free to contact me to discuss how I can assist you.

Practice description
I provide a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic environment where you can gain deeper self-understanding and explore resolutions to challenges in your life. My goal is to support you through this process with compassion and expertise.
As a Íø±¬ÃÅ registered counsellor trained in integrative methods and specialising in the person-centred approach, I tailor therapeutic models to your individual needs. Recognizing you as the ‘expert on yourself,’ I aim to genuinely listen to your concerns, feelings, and thoughts, and to accompany you on this journey toward healing and self-discovery.
My counselling approach is flexible and designed to suit your specific circumstances. Whether you seek a single session for immediate support, short-term focused therapy for a particular issue, long-term open-ended therapy for deep-seated concerns, or ad-hoc sessions when extra support is needed, we will collaborate to find the approach that works best for you.
Together, we will navigate and resolve the issues that have brought you to counselling, empowering you to move forward in a positive and meaningful direction.
My first session
Our initial session will consist of both an assessment and any immediate support I can provide. During this session, I will explore what has led you to seek counselling at this time, gain insight into your current circumstances, and discuss how we can work collaboratively moving forward.
Before this meeting, I will send you an assessment form to complete and return to me in advance. This ensures that we can make the most of our time together. Additionally, I will provide a copy of my terms and conditions, which outline payment details and other essential information about our therapeutic work—often referred to as a ‘counselling contract.’ I kindly ask that you sign and return this document before our first session.
** I offer a 10% discount if six sessions are booked and paid for in advance ** Contact me at matt@qscounselling.co.uk
