About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified (MÍø±¬ÃÅ) integrative counsellor and accredited life coach. My approach blends therapy and coaching to offer a holistic space which considers all aspects of the self. Often, we have to examine our past to fully understand who we are today to be able to move forwards and create the future we desire.
We can work together to decide what’s right for you, whether that is purely therapy or coaching, or a programme that offers a combination of the two modalities to get you to where you’d like to be.
A bit about me:
I have experience working with a wide range of people and concerns in the therapeutic space including:
• Anxiety
• Depression
• Bereavement
• Trauma
• Anger
• Self Esteem
• Relationships
In addition, I hold a qualification in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and have experience working in the NHS IAPT (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies) service where I supported a number of different clients in short term, solution focused therapy.
My focus is providing an authentic, encouraging and safe space in which to explore your thoughts and feelings fully. Therapy can be a powerful tool to self-discovery, exploring behavioural patterns, thought process and how past can impact present. Coaching is future focused, and action driven, helping you take control and feel empowered. I am here to support you through this process. I will listen deeply, challenge gently and help you to find clarity - identifying and working towards a solution that is right for you.
Within the coaching space I have assisted clients to identify and meet a number of goals including:
• General wellness - including weight loss and fitness
• Career changes – preparing for promotion, business creation, change in direction
• Life transitions – navigating major life changes impacting relationships, home or career
Other:
I am a group facilitator for Action for Happiness (a registered charity) 'Happiness Habits' course.
Practice description
I practice the below modalities, which can be adapted based on individual client need.
• The Person Centred approach focuses on creating the right conditions for an effective therapeutic relationship, building trust and empathy, creating a safe space encouraging honesty and insight.
• The Psychodynamic approach considers the effects of our unconscious, revisiting past experiences and how that might shape our personality, thoughts, feelings and coping mechanisms today.
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is designed to challenge our belief system and ultimately work to change the negative behaviours associated with it.
• Working within the GROW model of coaching – Goal, Reality, Options, Way forward - exploring values and beliefs, drivers, strengths and obstacles. Building confidence and creating a sustainable vision for the future.
• Furthermore, I am DISC certified. DISC is a psychometric tool that enables you to find out what your communication and behaviour preferences are and raise awareness of your motivational drivers. This can be beneficial in helping you to understand yourself and others on a deeper level.
• I am also a group facilitator for Action for Happiness (a registered charity) 'Happiness Habits' course
