About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I’m Annie.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, low in mood or carrying the weight of grief or loss, you don’t have to go through it alone. I offer a safe, supportive space in Hampton Hill — or online or on the phone — where you can talk openly and feel truly heard without judgement.
Many of the people I work with come to me during times of change or struggle — perhaps after a bereavement, a relationship breakdown, work stress, or when life simply feels too much. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you make sense of what you’re experiencing and find a way forward that feels right for you.
I have experience supporting adults through bereavement, anxiety, depression, trauma and relationship issues — with Cruse Bereavement service and Ruils Independent living Charity and private practice. My integrative approach means I adapt the way I work to suit you as an individual, always putting our therapeutic relationship at the heart of the process.
Practice description
What to Expect:
I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly and feel heard without judgement.
I support individuals from the age of 18 onwards who are struggling with anxiety, low mood, bereavement, stress, or simply feeling stuck in life. My approach is gentle and collaborative — we go at your pace, focusing on what matters most to you.
How I work
My practice is primarily underpinned by a person-centred approach, which means I offer a non-judgemental, empathic space where you are met with respect and honesty. I believe you are the expert in your own life, and that lasting change happens through a trusting therapeutic relationship.
While person-centred therapy forms the core of my work I also draw on ideas from psychodynamic and humanistic approaches when it feels helpful — such as exploring how past experiences may be shaping your present, or supporting you to reconnect with a more authentic sense of self.

Initial Phone Call – Setting the Foundation
Before beginning therapy, I offer a free initial phone call — usually around 30 minutes, though it may be a little longer. This is an important opportunity for both of us to explore whether working together feels like a good fit.
We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, how I work, and what you can expect from sessions. I’ll also go through practical details — such as format (online video, phone, or in-person), session length (50 minutes), fees, and availability. I’ll ask for some essential information like your GP’s details and your current location, which I require for safeguarding purposes.
This call helps us begin with clarity and mutual understanding, before committing to a regular time slot.
My first session
First Session – Beginning the Work
If we decide to move forward, our first full session is where the therapeutic work begins. While we’ll have already touched on your reasons for seeking support during the phone call, this session gives us space to explore things more deeply and begin building a working relationship.
There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we work at your pace, with care and attention to what feels most important for you. The first session is also a chance for you to get a feel for how I work, and to begin creating a space where you can feel safe, heard, and supported.
Ongoing Therapy
If we choose to continue, we’ll usually meet weekly or bi weekly at a regular time. How long we work together will depend on your needs and goals — some clients come for a handful of sessions during a difficult period, while others choose longer-term support.
Therapy is a collaborative process, and I’ll regularly check in with you about how things are going. You’re always welcome to ask questions or raise any concerns.
