As a specialist (in)fertility therapist, I am dedicated to supporting individuals and couples navigating their unique challenges with (in)fertility and unexplained (in)fertility (UI). I provide a non-judgmental and trustworthy environment where you can openly express your unique feelings and the complex, often invisible losses associated with this journey. Together, we will explore your experiences and recognise the pivotal moments when you feel ready to find hope once more. My goal is to guide you through this transition, helping you find resilience and healing as you move forward.

I usually work flexible hours from Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sessions for individuals and couples last 60 minutes and are generally held weekly or fortnightly at the same time each week.

The number of sessions we undertake will vary. Six to twelve sessions can have a substantial impact. Many people choose or need to continue for longer. Depending on your circumstances, we can agree from the start to work for a set number of sessions and review our progress periodically.

£70 for individual psychotherapy, counselling, or coaching.

£90 for a couple's counselling appointment.

Longer sessions with families, workshops and courses can also be arranged.

About me and my therapy practice

As a specialist (in)fertility therapist, I focus exclusively on (in)fertility, unexplained (in)fertility (UI), and all aspects of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ARTs). As a PhD researcher of (in)fertility and gaining my MSc on the psychological impact of (in)fertility and UI, I am well situated to support you, whatever situation you may unexpectedly find yourself regarding this topic.

I am committed to walking alongside my clients, providing support regardless of their emotional state at any stage of the fertility impairment journey. Together, we will delve into your fears and anxieties that may impact your lifelong dream of parenthood. I am dedicated to building a strong therapeutic relationship with individuals and couples facing their unique and personal (in)fertility challenges.

Whether you are a woman diagnosed with (in)fertility due to medical conditions such as irregular ovulation, endometriosis, PCOS, or damaged fallopian tubes, or a man facing challenges related to low semen quality or motility, I am here to help. I also support heterosexual and same-sex couples, who are striving to realise their dreams of parenthood. Additionally, if you have received a diagnosis of unexplained (in)fertility—a term that has been used since 1950 after ruling out other causes—I have the personal experience and training to guide you through this complex emotional landscape.

My goal is to provide a safe and compassionate space where you can explore your feelings and navigate the challenges of your fertility impairment journey, assisting you to find hope again. Together, we will work through your transformation and move forward from there.

Practice description

In Therapy with Marie

A space to know that you are not alone.

A space to honour grief. A space to find hope.

Supporting individuals, couples, families, and workshop groups navigate all that is entailed in living with and working through fertility impairment.

(In) Fertility issues are becoming one of the most pressing endemic conditions, now affecting fifteen to twenty per cent of couples worldwide. Yet, its medically prescribed treatment, In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF), is so extensively researched statistically that the emotional rollercoaster of (in)fertility and the lack of psychological support remain under-researched.

No matter where you are on this very challenging journey of living with (in)fertility whether you are a heterosexual or same sex couple or indeed an individual, suffering in this isolating environment, my message to you is: "you are not alone". It is my commitment and an honour to support you through this.

My passion for working with (in)fertility and UI stems from my own lived experiences of being diagnosed with 'unexplained infertility' (UI), which led to twelve years of medical intervention, both ongoing and intermittent. This is why I believe so strongly in walking with each of my clients’ unique experiences of their disenfranchised grief, non-finite losses, and profound sorrow related to (in)fertility. Since I work exclusively within this field, I feel confident addressing any aspect and stage of your journey with you.

My first session

In our first session, I will take the time to explore your goals, options, and dreams regarding your fertility journey. I will explain how I offer therapy and coaching in a trusted space where you can express your emotions surrounding realisation, which can often trigger feelings of disenfranchised grief and complex emotional responses that can be isolating.

I will delve into the challenges you are facing with you, whether they involve challenging cycles such as IVF treatments, experiencing miscarriage, endometriosis, PCOS, understanding how these fertility challenges impact your relationships, well-being, work, finances, and partnership. Acknowledging these difficulties is crucial, as they can be challenging to adjust to.

My focus will be on identifying the best way forward as we unpack these challenges together. I will explore your limiting beliefs that may be connected to your fertility challenges and work through them with you to find meaning in your experiences through reflective exploration. Ultimately, I aim to support you in your desire to feel whole again, as we navigate this fertility journey together.
