About me and my therapy practice
I am a Íø±¬ÃÅ-registered, trauma-informed Therapeutic Counsellor with over 30 years’ experience supporting individuals, young people, couples, and families. I offer a safe, supportive space to explore challenges, build resilience, and strengthen relationships with yourself and others.
I work with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, identity, and health concerns, as well as life transitions such as becoming a parent, leaving home, or separation and divorce. For couples and families, I offer space to address communication difficulties, conflict, blended family dynamics, the impact of neurodiversity or health challenges, and times of change or loss.
My approach is systemic and relational, which means I pay attention to the patterns and dynamics that shape how people connect. For individuals, this often involves developing greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and understanding of how past experiences influence the present. For couples and families, it means exploring how everyone influences and is influenced by each other, and how even small shifts can create meaningful change.
Alongside my private practice, I work as a Family Counsellor with Relate, the UK’s leading relationship support organisation. I offer sessions for individuals, young people, couples, parents, siblings, co-parents, and extended family members. Sessions are flexible; sometimes the whole family attends, sometimes a couple, or sometimes just one person begins.
Practice description
I offer a warm, supportive space for individuals, young people, couples, and families to explore life’s challenges and strengthen their wellbeing and relationships. My approach is integrative and systemic, drawing on different models to suit each client, while paying attention to the patterns and dynamics that shape how we relate to ourselves and others.
I support people with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, health concerns, identity, and life transitions such as becoming a parent, leaving home, separation, or divorce. I also work with couples and families around communication breakdowns, conflict, disconnection, blended family dynamics, and the impact of neurodiversity or health challenges.
Clients often say they feel safe, accepted, and able to speak freely in sessions with me. My style is collaborative, gentle, and non-judgemental, and I adapt the work to what feels most helpful, whether that’s with an individual, a couple, or a whole family. I also offer therapy to counselling students as part of their personal and professional development.
If you’d like to explore whether counselling could help, I offer a free 15-minute consultation.
My first session
Before therapy begins, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to help us decide if working together feels like a good fit. This is a relaxed space where you can ask questions, share what’s bringing you to therapy, and find out more about how I work.
If we decide to go ahead, I will send you a brief assessment form to complete before your first session. This helps me get a sense of what support you’re looking for and gives us a starting point to begin our work together. If you’re attending as a couple or a family, I may also ask for each person’s perspective where appropriate, so everyone feels included from the start.
In our first full session, we’ll begin building a sense of safety and trust. You’ll have space to talk about what’s important to you, at your own pace. Whether you’re coming as a family, couple, young person, or adult, there’s no pressure to share everything at once, we’ll go gently and focus on what feels most useful for you.
Individual sessions last 50 minutes, and relationship or family sessions are 75 minutes. You can choose to meet online or in person at my Wokingham practice, whatever feels most comfortable for you. The first session is charged at the same rate as ongoing sessions.

Practice description
I offer a warm, supportive space for individuals; adults and young people, couples and families, couples, young people, and adults to explore life’s challenges and strengthen their relationships. I specialise in systemic family and relationship counselling, a type of therapy that looks at the patterns, dynamics, and communication styles that shape how we relate to one another. My approach is grounded in care, respect, and the belief that change is possible when we feel heard and understood.
Family and relationship counselling provides an opportunity for all voices to be heard. It can help with conflict, disconnection, big life transitions, blended family dynamics, grief, and more. Whether you're facing a specific issue or simply want to feel closer and communicate more openly, counselling can offer a fresh perspective and a way forward. Sessions are always shaped around what feels safe and helpful for those involved; sometimes this includes the whole family, a couple, or just one or two members.
Clients often say they feel safe, accepted, and able to speak freely in sessions with me. My style is collaborative, gentle, and non-judgemental. If you’d like to talk about whether therapy might be helpful for you, your relationship, or your family, I offer a free 15-minute consultation.
Sessions are 50 minutes and held weekly. Counselling can be short-term or long-term, a one-time experience, or an ongoing part of your self-care routine. It’s an investment in yourself and your future.
I offer both brief therapy and long-term therapy. Open-ended work allows us to explore more in depth, providing greater insight and personal growth.
For those beginning their journey in therapeutic practice, I also provide therapy to counselling students, helping them prepare for their future roles as therapists.
My first session
I offer a 15-minute Zoom or telephone call to discuss your circumstances and hopes for therapy. This initial conversation will allow us to explore what brought you to therapy and what you hope to gain from it. It's also an opportunity for you to see if we would work well together and to ask any questions you might have about my approach and the way I work.
During this call, we will discuss available times to suit your schedule, and you can decide if you would like to book a session. I invite you to visit my website for additional information.
To ensure that we work safely and ethically together, I ask that you complete a counselling agreement before we begin our sessions.
