About me and my therapy practice

A warm welcome to my profile.

You might be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply not yourself lately. Perhaps you鈥檙e struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or going through something that feels hard to name but even harder to carry alone. Whatever brings you here, I offer you a warm, compassionate space to begin making sense of it 鈥 at a pace that feels safe and respectful to you.

My name is Hannah and I鈥檓 a 网爆门-registered Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist (Level 7). I work with adults both in-person and online, supporting people to navigate a wide range of emotional challenges with compassion and clarity鈥 giving tools and understanding to empower change. Central to my approach is helping you build a kinder, more understanding relationship with yourself 鈥 one rooted in self-awareness, acceptance and care. I believe this is the foundation to better mental health, coping with setbacks, being content within relationships and in life.

Therapy with me is a gentle, collaborative process.

Clients often describe feeling at ease with me from our very first conversation. Others have shared that our work was 鈥渓ife-changing鈥 and has led to meaningful, lasting growth 鈥 you can read some of their words on the testimonials page of my website. I鈥檓 here to walk alongside you as we explore what you鈥檝e been experiencing鈥 your thoughts, feelings, memories, and experiences 鈥 and begin to untangle what鈥檚 making life difficult. I believe therapy isn鈥檛 just about coping; it鈥檚 about deepening your understanding of yourself so you can move forward feeling more at peace and content in yourself and the world around you.

Together, we might explore:

- Why certain patterns keep repeating in your emotions, thoughts and/or relationships

- How your past experiences may be shaping your present

- What tools and coping strategies can be used

- What it means to meet yourself with compassion, rather than criticism

- How to find clarity, strength, or softness where you need it most

Practice description

My approach is integrative, gentle, and tailored to you.

I鈥檓 trained in Humanistic/Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and CBT approaches, which means I can adapt the way I work depending on your needs (see /about-therapy/types-of-therapy/integrative-counselling/). The therapeutic relationship itself 鈥 grounded in warmth, trust and safety 鈥 is central to this work. I value your feedback and invite you to shape the process with me as we go.

I have a deep interest in holistic well-being 鈥 in how our body, mind and spirit are interconnected. This understanding informs my practice and work with clients. I'm especially drawn to the meeting place between psychology and spirituality: the parts of us that seek meaning, purpose, belonging, and connection 鈥 to others, to the natural world, and to something greater than ourselves.

If it feels relevant to you, I offer space to explore spiritual themes as part of our work 鈥 whether you come from a faith background or not. Meditation, mindfulness, and connecting to your true self can be woven into the therapy in a grounded, accessible way that honours your own beliefs and experiences.

Above all, I aim to offer a space where all parts of you are welcome 鈥 even those that feel uncertain, hidden or difficult to express.

Next steps

It鈥檚 important to find a therapist you feel comfortable with. If you鈥檙e curious about working together, feel free to look at my website (www.serenuspsychotherapy.co.uk) to find out more about me or reach out to arrange an initial conversation. I鈥檇 be very happy to hear from you.

My first session

Before beginning counselling, I offer a free initial session (up to 50 minutes) to explore whether we feel like a good fit to work together. This is a gentle space where you can share what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions you might have, and get a sense of how I work.

I鈥檒l also explain some practical details, such as the therapy agreement and how our sessions might be structured. There鈥檚 no pressure to have everything figured out 鈥 you鈥檙e welcome to come just as you are. The focus of this session is for both of us to get a feel for what working together might be like. After the session, you鈥檙e free to take some time to reflect or go ahead and book your first appointment when you feel ready.

Sessions take place on a rolling basis, with no set number required 鈥 you are free to continue for as long or as little as feels right for you. Some clients come for a few weeks or months; others find ongoing work helpful over a longer period. We will work together to find the right pace and length of your therapy journey.
