About me and my therapy practice
I chose this name because therapy, to me, is about creating the right conditions for growth: a safe and nurturing space where you can begin to blossom.
I work with adults and couples using an integrative approach: blending Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic ideas, and Attachment/Inner Child work. In couples therapy, I add a systemic lens, helping partners explore their dynamics and find new ways to connect.
I also work in a male-focused way with men who may find it difficult to open up in traditional counselling spaces. This often means exploring emotional regulation, fatherhood, relationship pressures or the weight of expectation. My approach is practical and down-to-earth, sensitive to how men experience and express distress differently.
Alongside this, I support neurodiverse clients (ADHD, autism, dyslexia and more) both individually and in relationships. Therapy can explore how neurodiversity shapes identity, self-esteem, communication and connection. In couples work, I help partners understand their different processing styles and create strategies that support both.
Because therapy isn鈥檛 鈥渙ne size fits all鈥, I also offer psychoeducation, sharing frameworks and insights you can use in daily life.
A significant part of my practice is trauma counselling. I have supported survivors of domestic abuse, sexual assault (including childhood abuse), and those living with the impact of trauma. My style is gentle but grounded: we work with your trauma rather than against it, using grounding, mindfulness, regulation skills and EMDR to restore safety and self-compassion.
Alongside private practice, I continue to support organisations such as the Police Firearms Officers Association (PFOA) and Victim Support.
If you鈥檙e at a turning point and looking for counselling in Milton Keynes 鈥 whether for trauma therapy, anxiety, relationships, neurodiversity or attachment 鈥 I鈥檇 be glad to hear from you.
Take care,
Abi Perryman

Individual Therapy
Personal therapy is a space to make sense of what鈥檚 happening in your life right now 鈥 especially if you feel a gap between how you want to be and how you鈥檙e currently experiencing yourself.
I work integratively, drawing from Person-Centred Therapy, CBT, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic/Attachment work and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). This allows me to tailor therapy to your unique needs, whether you鈥檙e navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity or simply wanting to know yourself better.
I also offer male-focused counselling, providing a practical, grounded way for men to explore emotions, relationships, fatherhood or the weight of expectation in a safe and approachable setting.
Relationship & Couples Therapy
Relationship therapy is for two people in any dynamic 鈥 partners, friends or family members 鈥 who want to strengthen their connection. Sometimes it鈥檚 about working through conflict or breakdown, other times about navigating change together.
I use a systemic and attachment-focused approach, helping you both to recognise repeating patterns and develop new, healthier ways of relating. With neurodiverse couples, I support you in valuing different processing and communication styles, creating strategies that work for both of you.
What to Expect
Starting therapy can feel like setting out on a hike. Some parts of the path may be challenging, but you don鈥檛 have to walk them alone.
Together we reflect, explore the roots of your responses, and find ways forward that feel true to you. When your goals are reached, we bring therapy to a positive close.
What It Is Not
I won鈥檛 tell you what you 鈥渟hould鈥 do. Instead, I鈥檒l help you uncover what you truly want, what鈥檚 been holding you back, and how to create meaningful change.
