About me and my therapy practice
As a humanistic psychotherapeutic counsellor, I believe in people's capacity for healing and growth and the potential for the therapeutic relationship to support real change and enhance overall wellbeing. Through deep listening, empathy and curiosity, we can get to know how it really feels to be you in the world. Over time, my hope is for you to recognise and move away from less healthy ways of relating to yourself, and others, whilst discovering ways of being that feel more aligned with your authentic self and your hopes for the future.
In choosing to work with me, I can offer a warm, accepting and compassionate space for building a trusting and collaborative relationship. As we explore the challenges you are currently grappling with, I will be right there with you as a fellow human being and will offer observations and invite gentle challenges if I feel this may deepen your self-awareness.
Regarding my academic and professional background, I undertook post-graduate counselling training (Master's level) at the University of Brighton in 2020, qualifying in 2022. Prior to this, I worked as an adult Speech and Language Therapist and practised mainly in acute hospitals. I have an undergraduate MA (hons) degree in Psychology.
Practice description
Life can feel really messy and confusing. You may be feeling a mixture of painful emotions right now, such as fear, sadness, anger and even despair. Finding a counsellor to share your intimate personal story with, to help you to make sense of your struggles, can feel really daunting. You may have lots of concerns at this stage, such as whether counselling will make you feel worse, and whether you will be able to be vulnerable with a relative stranger.
Creating a safe space with me to get to know yourself more fully, and your relationships, requires patience, courage and trusting the process. I will be guided by you as to what you wish to share, and when you feel comfortable doing so. With greater self-awareness and compassion for all parts of you, I am hopeful you will feel empowered to make meaningful changes in your life, fostering your long-term wellbeing and growth. For me, committing to therapeutic support can be a life-long investment.
I look forward to meeting you.
