About me and my therapy practice
Hi I'm Claire,
I offer a safe, confidential and compassionate space where emotions, difficult feelings and experiences can be expressed, acknowledged and worked through.
Life brings challenges and it is understandable that we may look for support in facing them. As a counsellor my role is to provide a safe space to help you explore your circumstances and self discovery. This can empower you to make your own meaningful choices to move forwards in your life.
I really care about what I do when working alongside my clients. I have a warm, down to earth, and welcoming approach. I am told I am easy to talk to and that I can sit in the reality of difficult feelings with my clients.
I work with a diverse community of people, coming to me with a varied range of problems. As a fully qualified counsellor I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy  (Íø±¬ÃÅ) and abide by their codes of ethical working and good practice. I am also a practitioner member of  The Black, African and Asian Therapy Network.
Experience
I work alongside clients 18 + who are navigating a range of emotional difficulties, including anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem, trauma, and relationship or family issues. I have developed particular experience in counselling survivors of both recent and historic sexual assault and abuse having worked within a sexual abuse support centre.
I have worked with university students in the UK and teaching staff from the international educational sector. Through this work I have developed a deep understanding of the complex challenges that come with balancing academic demands and emotional wellbeing when facing personal difficulties.
In addition to my clinical work, I am also a counselling tutor. I teach and support students working towards their counselling qualifications. Whether in therapy or as a tutor my goal is to inspire growth, learning and positive change.
