About me and my therapy practice

Thank you for visiting my profile today.

I have a private practice called 鈥淏ee-coming, HOPE鈥. I am a registered member of the 网爆门 (British association of counselling and Psychotherapy), and I am a member of NCS (National Counselling Society) meaning you are assured I am working with an ethical code of practice as a qualified counsellor. I am an integrative counsellor, meaning I use a variety of methods when counselling. I am a qualified Mental Health First Aider and Meditation Practitioner.

When I am counselling, I have a feeling of being at home, like its meant to be. I have a passion for well-being, and it is at the heart of everything I do. I work at a local NHS Oncology support unit, and I volunteer my counselling services to patients with cancer on a palliative care path, cancer survivors and their families and the nurses who look after them. I am also a sixth form college counsellor part time, where I support staff and students in an education setting.

Practice description

Why choose me to be your counsellor?

Everything I do is focused on providing you with HOPE; and that is why I put HOPE, quite literally in my company鈥檚 name. I feel my commitment to you should be clear from the start of us working together. I will get to know you and understand your needs in a holistic way. You are an individual and as such I will treat you like one by making sure your counselling experience is tailored to meet your needs. I will walk alongside you and create a safe space for you to be able to explore those challenges in a non-judgmental way. Using a variety of techniques, I will work in a non-directive way to help you make positive and lasting changes. All our work will be confidential and any records I keep will be kept in accordance with GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations). I recognise that you may be a little nervous at the thought of starting counselling. Taking the first steps can be the most difficult. So much uncertainty. To try and make that easier for you I am offering your first session free. I will use that first session to show you what counselling is about, set expectations of what I can offer. You will then be able to make a decision if I am the counsellor for you and you can think about what you want to gain from our time together. Finding the right support for you is very important and vital. I would love to be alongside you, but you need to feel the same. Only then will we begin creating a therapeutic relationship together which will work through your challenges.

My first session

I will carry out a telephone assessment capturing some basic background information from you. Lasting about 1/2 hour. We will start the formation of our therapeutic relationship and we will look at how we can work together if appropriate.

Then our first hour session is free. We will discuss a little about your concerns and you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you. Finding the right counsellor is so important and I want you to be sure.

About me and my therapy practice

Thank you for looking at my profile. I hope you find what you are looking for in a supervisor.

As a qualified Clinical Supervisor, I offer a collaborative, nurturing, and reflective space where supervisees feel supported, valued, and professionally challenged. My supervision style is warm and compassionate, while also gently encouraging growth, deepening clinical insight, and enhancing ethical practice.

I work integratively, drawing on a range of theoretical approaches to meet the individual needs of each supervisee. My supervision is grounded in the Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision (Hawkins & Shohet), providing a multi-dimensional lens to explore the therapeutic process, relationships, and wider systemic context.

I have a particular interest and depth of experience in grief, loss, and palliative care, and I welcome supervisees working in these emotionally rich areas and others. My professional background includes work within the NHS, student counselling in education settings, private practice, and couples work, giving me a broad understanding of diverse client groups and therapeutic settings.

I am also an Autism-Informed Practitioner, with a commitment to neurodiversity-affirming practice, and a Rewind Technique trained therapist, supporting safe and effective trauma processing. I am also trained in compassion focused work.

Whether you鈥檙e newly qualified or an experienced therapist, I aim to offer a supervision space that is safe, encouraging, and professionally enriching鈥攁 place where you can reflect, learn, and grow, with challenges to stretch and reflect upon

My first session

My first session is always free. I feel our relationship is the most important thing. I therefore will give you the opportunity to experience what it is like to be supervised by me, only when you are sure, we will embark on paid for sessions and agree contracts. I will make reasonable adjustments depending upon your requirements wherever possible, eg shorter sessions or longer sessions, sessions with comfort breaks and a voice recording of my contracts as well as a written copy if needed.
