About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ) and hold a PGDip Counselling and Psychotherapy Diploma (Distinction). My experience includes working for the NHS, the University of Leeds Student Counselling Service, and various charities supporting individuals facing challenges such as addiction, loss, and bereavement.
I offer short- and long-term integrative counselling and psychotherapy in central Bristol (BS1), tailoring my approach to suit your unique needs - research on effective therapy consistently shows that the most important factor is the therapeutic relationship. Our work together might include exploring how past experiences continue to shape your present to help you make sense of your history and who you are.
Having lived in different countries—including ten years in Brazil—I also offer therapy in Brazilian Portuguese.
Practice description
Counselling and psychotherapy offer something we all need—a space where it is safe to be ourselves. It is an opportunity for you to feel heard and understood. Starting therapy, especially for the first time, can feel scary. And focusing on what you need can feel new and uncomfortable. I am warm and compassionate and hope to provide a safe container for whatever you bring.
Perhaps you feel stuck in unhelpful habits that are preventing you from having fulfilling relationships or affecting your quality of life. You might have suffered a big loss or change in your life. Whatever brings you to therapy, it takes courage to trust and be open so that you can understand aspects of yourself you might be frightened or ashamed of. Whatever you need to say will be listened to and together we will think about how to navigate what you are struggling with, which might be anxiety, depression or low self-esteem.
