About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I鈥檓 Jill. Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor dedicated to supporting individuals through life鈥檚 challenges by offering a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space to explore thoughts, feelings, and experiences.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches 鈥 including person-centred, psychodynamic, and cognitive-behavioural techniques 鈥 which allows me to tailor each session to your unique needs. I believe there is no 鈥渙ne-size-fits-all鈥 approach to therapy, so I work collaboratively with you to find a way forward that feels both supportive and effective.
You may be seeking help for anxiety, low mood, loss, relationship challenges, or a sense of being 鈥渟tuck.鈥 Whatever you bring, I offer a warm, compassionate presence to help you gain clarity and insight. Together, we can explore your experiences, identify patterns, and build strategies for resilience, self-understanding, and growth.
I see the therapeutic relationship as central to the work we do. My aim is to provide a space where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered to make the changes that matter most to you.
Practice description
My experience spans a wide range of mental health and well-being challenges, shaped by years of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds. I have worked extensively within a brain injury charity, providing counselling to individuals recovering from brain injuries and supporting their families as they navigate the emotional and practical challenges of change and recovery.
In addition, I work as a Specialist Mental Health Mentor for university students, helping them address barriers to learning, manage stress and anxiety, and develop strategies for both academic and personal growth.
I have also worked with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, low self-esteem, and life transitions. My approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, with a strong belief that meaningful change is possible when people feel supported and heard. I aim to create a collaborative and compassionate environment where clients can explore their feelings, gain insight into themselves, and build tools for coping and moving forward.
Whether you are seeking short-term support to navigate a specific difficulty or longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns, I will work alongside you to create a therapeutic process that feels safe, respectful, and empowering.
