I currently offer therapy on weekday daytimes, some evenings and Saturday mornings. Sessions are available both online and in-person from Godalming, Surrey.
Many of my clients are parents, carers, or working professionals who need flexible times — we can discuss what works best for you when you get in touch.
About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Kate McKenna, a Íø±¬ÃÅ Registered Counsellor and Couples Therapist based in Godalming, Surrey.
I specialise in relationship counselling for individuals and couples, and also support people with parenting challenges, relational trauma, and emotional well-being.
Many people come to counselling because they feel stuck, unable to move forward or caught in patterns that repeat in their relationships. Often what seems like a single issue is actually woven together with stress, past experiences, and emotional overwhelm, making life feel more complicated than it appears on the surface.
Are You Feeling Stuck, Drained or Misunderstood in your Relationships?
You might find yourself thinking:
- It’s like we’re speaking a different language.
- Everyone else seems to manage relationships more easily.
- I’m playing a part that doesn’t feel like the real me.
This can lead to feelings of loneliness, resentment, self-doubt, and emotional disconnection, whether in romantic relationships, friendships, family dynamics, or as a parent.
I can help you build healthier, more authentic relationships, where you feel seen, heard, and valued; and where you can communicate with clarity and confidence.
I work with adults (18+), both individually and as couples, as well as in other relationships (such as parent/adult-child dynamics). Together, we can:
Strengthen emotional connection
Set healthy boundaries
Develop a shared language for communicating needs
Repair trust and rebuild connection
Support you in being loved and accepted for who you truly are
Reaching out can feel like a big step, if you think I might be the right fit for you, feel free to drop me a message no strings attached.
Practice description
If you have questions and would like to speak before you book, email me or use the contact form to arrange a short free call with no strings attached. When you're ready and feel like we'd be a good fit, we can arrange your first full session.
I offer both online therapy and in-person sessions from Godalming, Surrey. Many clients find online therapy offers the flexibility they need around family life or busy schedules.
Sessions are usually held weekly, depending on the type of therapy you're seeking sessions are different lengths:
Individual sessions lasts 50 minutes
The first couples session is usually 90 minutes
Ongoing Couples Sessions are usually 60 minutes but if preferred you can continue to have 90 minute sessions or a mix.
Our counselling sessions provide you with a compassionate and personalised opportunity to explore your experiences, build resilience, and create lasting change in your relationships and emotional wellbeing.
My first session
Our first session is a chance to get to know each other better and begin to get and idea of how well use our time together.
We’ll cover the practical stuff like what to do if you’re running late or need to reschedule. I will answer any questions you might have about what to expect and how counselling works.
Some of our time might be talking about your life, this might include your past and family relationships. If you e had counselling before I might ask what was helpful or what wasn’t.
You’ll also have the time to share more about what has been happening and what you’d like to achieve or change by coming to counselling.
By the end of the session we’ll begin to have a plan of how I can support you and how I plan to do that.
