I am currently taking on new clients! I work flexible hours, evenings, and weekends. We can book sessions on a rolling weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis, or just as and when you need them. I'm here to work around what's best for you.
For in person sessions, I have my own private, cosy therapy space in Glossop. I also work virtually online via Teams or Google Meet.
About me and my therapy practice
I'm not a blank-slate therapist - I show up as my genuine, authentic self so that you can feel safe to do the same. I'll challenge you thoughtfully, ask questions, and bring curiosity into our sessions so we can really deep dive and get to the root of matters together. My goal is to create a space where you can unmask, be honest, and truly feel accepted and empowered.
In addition to holding a Doctorate in Psychological Therapies and over 10 years of clinical training and practice, my approach is deeply informed by my own lived experience. As someone who has navigated eating disorder recovery for 15+ years, an adult ADHD diagnosis, and bisexual identity, I bring empathy and honesty to my work.
I hope to be the person who truly sees you, and allows you to bring your whole self - so you can start to heal and grow without needing to hide. It is a genuine honour to hold space for people to explore that kind of openness - sometimes for the first time.
My approach is also about giving you a whole toolbox of skills and techniques - we'll find the strategies that work best for you and adapt them into transferrable skills so that you can take them with you, anywhere and anytime.
I often work with clients around shame, guilt, people pleasing, self-esteem, burnout, boundaries, perfectionism, self-care, nutrition, emotional regulation, coping skills, identity, and breaking patterns that feel particularly stuck or entrenched. Whether you're coming to me for support with recovery, to explore your sense of self, or to find systems and strategies that work for your brain, I'm here to support you flexibly, in the way you need most at the time.
I will walk alongside you, cheer you on, hold you accountable, point you in the direction of growth, and follow you as you discover your own path. I know from my vast personal and professional experiences that healing happens when we're ready. Let's get there together!
Practice description
My passion lies in three key intersecting areas: body image & eating difficulties; neurodivergence; and queer, trans & non-binary experiences.
I work with adults of all ages and young people aged 15+
I offer specialist expertise in:
- All eating disorders including ARFID, binge eating disorder, bulimia, anorexia, orthorexia, and disordered eating
- Autism, ADHD, and those querying neurodiversity
- LGBTQ+ identity & wellbeing concerns – especially for transgender, non-binary, and bisexual people, who face unique challenges of discrimination and marginalisation
- Body image difficulties including body dysmorphia & dysphoria
- Emotional dysregulation difficulties including EUPD/BPD and self-harm
- Substance misuse & addictions of all kinds
- Health anxiety & social anxiety
- Intimacy, sexual health, & relationship communication skills
As a Doctor of Psychological Therapies, I’ve trained in a wide range of therapy models, including all three specialist eating disorder talking therapy treatments (MANTRA, CBT-E, and SSCM). I draw from different approaches such as compassion-focused therapy, schema therapy, solutions-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioural therapy, and person-centred therapy to create a unique, personalised blend of techniques and skills for each person I work with.
I bring a down-to-earth, warm and holistic, but also scientific and practical perspective to my work. I believe in meeting you where you are and building small, solid steps to enable meaningful, sustained progress - sometimes we have to work with the coping strategies we have first, to then be able to shift them. I also love educating people about the biology of our brains and bodies, as I find empowering people with this knowledge often helps them step away from self-criticism.
I bring my whole heart, brain, and lifetime of learning - professionally and personally - to provide caring, enthusiastic, real-world support.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute initial video consultation where we can get to know each other - it's important you feel like your therapist is the right fit, as our relationship is central to the work we'll do together.
In your first therapy session, we'll agree on how we'll work together by mapping out the feel and focus of our sessions and picking a schedule that works for you. I'll talk you through the therapies that I think would be most suitable for you, considering both what's clinically indicated and what you're looking for. Of course, we'll adapt this as we get to know each other better and our work evolves!
What I can help with
ADD / ADHD, Addictions, Anxiety, Autism spectrum, Bereavement, Coach Therapist, Cultural issues, Depression, Development coaching, Disability, Eating disorders, Health related issues, Identity issues, Infertility, LGBTQ+ counselling, Life coaching, Loss, Menopause, Men's issues, Mood disorder, Neurodiversity, Personal development, Phobias, Pregnancy related issues, Redundancy, Relationships, Self esteem, Self-harm, Sensory impairment, Sex-related issues, Sexual identity, Sexuality, Stress, Substance Dependency, Vegan allied, Women's issues, Work related issues
