About me and my therapy practice

I have a private practice in Staveley, near Kendal, in the beautiful South Lakes, and in Lancaster city centre.

Sessions can take place indoors or outdoors, or a mixture of both.

I integrate transactional analysis, neuroscience, attachment, and somatic theories with nature therapy, EMDR, imagery, creativity, movement, yoga, and mindfulness. This matrix of complementary theories and approaches gives me a toolbox with which to offer an individualised approach that is most appropriate in that moment with that client.

I am trained, qualified, and experienced in supporting people to make meaningful changes to improve their quality of life.

I am the author of the Wild and Wellbeing Card Deck, and co-author, with Babette Rothschild, of the 8 Keys to Safe Trauma Recovery Workbook; both published by WW Norton.

I am a member of the Climate Psychology Alliance, 鈥渆xploring psychological responses to the climate crisis to strengthen relationships and resilience for a just future鈥.

Practice description

I integrate a range of theories and techniques, including Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, somatic and body psychotherapy, Somatic Trauma Therapy, eco-psychotherapy, sand tray, play, and creativity. I'm also a qualified yoga teacher, mountain leader, and forest school leader.

I've completed a variety of training courses and qualifications in order to offer diverse interventions for the diverse parts of you. These include somatic trauma therapy, mindfulness, sensorimotor art therapy for trauma, movement for trauma coaching, EMDR, eco-psychotherapy, image work, and a variety of creative and nature connection trainings.

I tend to interweave these kinds of creative, embodied, nature-connected, and mindful practices throughout my psychotherapeutic offering depending on each individual鈥檚 needs and preferences.

I have experience working with people who are experiencing a wide range of difficulties including PTSD, anxiety, selective mutism, separation anxiety, developmental trauma, identity exploration, autism, and ADHD.

I have worked with people to support them to feel more in control of overwhelming emotions, more able to make decisions and hold boundaries, to feel more grounded and centred, to feel stable and safe, to feel certain about being valuable, capable, lovable, powerful, and equal.

If you're drawn to a therapeutic process that is intuitive, embodied, and creative鈥攐ne that honours your connection to self, others, and nature鈥擨 would be honoured to walk alongside you on your journey.

About me and my therapy practice

I am currently a supervisor-in-training with CSTD Bath. I offer clinical supervision for those in helping professions who work with children and/or adults; including psychotherapists and counsellors, as well as others such as yoga therapists, forest school practitioners, eco-therapists and coaches.

I am a UKCP-registered integrative psychotherapist and psychotherapeutic counsellor, qualified to work with adults, children and young people. I have experience in CAMHS, NHS, schools, and charitable organisations. I have a private practice in the South Lake District.

In addition to working with individuals and groups in various settings, I also work outdoors and hold qualifications, training and experience as a Mountain Leader, Forest School, basket-making, and nature connection. I am interested in the role that relationship with more-than-human nature has in resourcing and supporting therapeutic work and sense of belonging. I am also trained in a variety of embodied and body-connected practices including yoga, yoga therapy, yogic mindfulness, somatic trauma therapy.

Practice description

My role as a supervisor is to offer a supportive, thoughtful environment where you can explore your practice, navigate challenges, and strengthen your confidence as a clinician.

I work from Hawkins and Shohet鈥檚 Seven-Eyed Model of Supervision, which looks at the many layers of therapeutic work. Together, we might explore your client鈥檚 experience, your interventions and responses, the relationship between you and your client, and the wider context that shapes the work. We also attend to the supervision relationship itself 鈥 how it can mirror or illuminate what鈥檚 happening in therapy.

Each supervision relationship is unique. I aim to create a collaborative and reflective space where you feel both supported and gently challenged. Supervision is not about being 鈥渞ight鈥 or 鈥渨rong,鈥 but about developing awareness, curiosity, and confidence in your clinical decisions.

In our sessions, you can expect:

- A individualised, safe space to bring your client work, dilemmas, and reflections.

- Time to explore your own responses and feelings in the therapeutic process.

- Constructive feedback and perspective to support your professional growth.

- A focus on ethical practice, boundaries, and wellbeing 鈥 for both you and your clients.

- Encouragement to develop your own authentic style as a therapist.

- A creative, embodied, relational approach.

The value of supervision lies in what we co-create together 鈥 a reflective, relational space through which your work is thoughtfully explored, your professional growth is nurtured, and your clients鈥 wellbeing is safeguarded.
