About me and my therapy practice
Hi, my name is Sue, I am a Person-Centred Counsellor. I'm passionate about helping people through times of difficulty and when you may feel you need some support. I can provide a welcoming, safe, confidential and non-judgmental space. Where you can explore your worries and concerns in a safe comfortable environment. Giving you the chance to discuss things that you might be struggling with in your life right now. I hope to offer kindness and an empathetic therapeutic relationship. Allowing you to be open and feel supported and less vulnerable and in turn feel more in control of your life.
My working background was as teaching assistant within a primary school settings, where I supported children's educational and emotional needs. This include SEND, special needs support and counselling for anxiety, separation, illness, loses and abuse. My work is now focused primarily with adults and teenagers.
I qualified as a Person-Centred counsellor to degree level, with a BSc Hons from the University of Derby. During the last 10 years, I have been a volunteered counsellor for a local charity that supports lone parent and their families. My work there has been varied, and I have supported clients with many complexed needs. This in turn has given me a wide range of experiences on which I can draw from. I now work in private practice and can offer face to face counselling sessions alongside telephone session.
I continue to develop my knowledge and experience and undertake regular supervision and training to maintain my professional development.
I am a Registered Member of the Íø±¬ÃÅ and follow their ethical guidelines.
Practice description
Person-centred counselling allows you to go at your own pace, exploring your feelings and thoughts. I give you the time and space to reflect on the struggles you may be faced with. Offering a non-judgmental, confidential, honest approach, I aim to support you to explore your situation, reflecting on things in your life that you might want to change.
My approach aims to help you feel less alone and more able to process difficulties, emotions, stresses, and traumas that you are facing or have faced in the past. Allowing you to find solutions that are right for you.
I believe that person-centred counselling can be incredibly rewarding and empowering.
I work from an office at my home where I can offer a quiet, confidential space in a relaxing environment.
Parking is easily accessed at the property.
