About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I'm Ali. I specialise in bereavement and loss counselling.

We all experience loss at some point in our lives. This can be the loss of somebody close to us or maybe your loss is a relationship, your health, confidence, or direction in life. I can help you if you are struggling in this area to make sense of the loss, explore your thoughts and emotions and begin to regain a sense of purpose.

How I can help you

Each person experiences loss differently. It may feel overwhelming, isolating and never-ending but you don’t have to navigate this journey alone. In my practice, I provide a safe, compassionate, non-judgmental space and I offer personalised support to meet your needs. Here you can express your feelings openly, no matter how complex or intense they may be. Together we will explore the emotions and thoughts you are experiencing such as sadness, anger, confusion, overthinking and maybe guilt. We will work together to reduce these areas and find a path towards peace.

My approach

I take a holistic, empathic approach to counselling, tailoring each session to meet your unique needs and circumstances. Grief and your reactions to loss are not a linear process and there is no right or wrong way. I focus on helping you make sense of what has happened, understand your emotional responses and find ways to find clarity and peace.

I am a fully qualified counsellor (BA Hons Counselling) and an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - Íø±¬ÃÅ (Accred).

I follow the guidelines and ethics set out by the Íø±¬ÃÅ for good practice.

I currently have limited availability for supervision in-person but more flexibility online using Zoom.

About me and my therapy practice

Hello I'm Ali.

As a clinical supervisor I support you to work ethically, grow professionally and stay resilient.

Supervision isn’t just a requirement—it’s an essential part of working safely and effectively as a therapist or health professional. It provides space to reflect, process and gain fresh insight into your work, all within a confidential and supportive relationship.

Whether you're in private practice or part of a healthcare organisation, quality supervision helps you:

• Stay aligned with ethical and professional standards

• Deepen your clinical insight

• Prevent burnout

• Develop your skills and confidence

I’m an experienced Integrative Counsellor with a BA (Hons) in Counselling from Middlesex University and a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision from Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute (SPTI).

My clinical work has covered a range of presenting issues, with recent specialism in bereavement and loss.

I provide supervision to:

• Counsellors and psychotherapists

• Nurses and healthcare professionals

I work in both the NHS and private sector. I am committed to ongoing CPD, reflective practice and receiving supervision for my supervision practice.

Practice description

I aim to create a space where you feel safe to bring the highs and lows of your work. Supervision with me is collaborative, thoughtful and tailored to your needs and learning style.

I draw on several models, including:

• The Seven-Eyed Model (Hawkins & Shohet)

• Bands of Supervision (Gilbert & Clarkson)

• The TGROW framework (Driscoll)

You’ll be encouraged to reflect on your client work, your development as a practitioner and the impact of the work on you. We may explore unconscious dynamics, skills and interventions and any challenges you’re facing in your practice.

Sessions are a blend of support, gentle challenge and professional development.

My first session

What to expect

• Free 30-minute initial meeting (online or in-person) to see if we’re a good fit

• Personalised supervision based on your experience, goals and learning style

• Individual or small group sessions available

• £60 per 60-minute session (frequency tailored to your needs)

• Annual review of our work together to ensure it continues to meet your needs

It may be useful to complete a brief learning styles questionnaire (e.g., Kolb) to help us tailor the sessions to how you learn best.

Areas We Can Explore Together

• Your growth and development

• Maintaining safe and ethical practice

• Diversity and inclusion

• Skills and therapeutic interventions

• Awareness of unconscious processes

• Supervision of your private practice

• Identifying areas for CPD or additional training

• Reflecting on your role and identity as a practitioner

Next step

Feel free to contact me for an initial conversation as to your supervision requirements. Whether you’re newly qualified or an experienced practitioner, supervision can offer you insight, structure and a supportive space to grow.
