About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Tina — counsellor, human, and occasional metaphorical poker.

If you’re looking for a counsellor who’s going to sit in silence and just nod at you… that’s not me. I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation—sometimes warm, sometimes challenging, sometimes even with a dash of humour—because real life isn’t always neat and tidy, and neither are we.

I’m empathetic, grounded, and human first. I’ll listen deeply, but I’ll also gently (and sometimes not-so-gently) poke at the bits you’re avoiding, so you can actually work through them. My aim is for you to leave each session not just feeling heard, but standing a little taller—like you’ve achieved something, however small.

I work with adults and young people, supporting them through life’s twists, tangles, and turning points. Whether you’re dealing with stress, loss, anxiety, relationships, or just feeling a bit stuck, we’ll face it together.

Therapy with me isn’t about ticking boxes—it’s about creating a space where you can be yourself (awkwardness, tears, laughter and all) and know that you’ll be met with warmth, honesty, and humanity.

If you’re ready for a counsellor who’s real, relatable, and just a little bit cheeky, I’d love to hear from you.

Practice description

I am a person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ). My approach is warm, genuine, and compassionate, providing a safe and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace.

I believe that each person has the ability to grow, heal, and make positive changes when given the right support. Together, we will focus on what matters most to you, helping you gain clarity, confidence, and a deeper understanding of yourself.

I am fully insured, hold an Enhanced DBS, and am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) for data protection.

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute introductory session, giving us the opportunity to chat and see if I’m the right fit for you and to ensure we can build a good therapeutic connection.

Before we begin our first full session, I will send you a counselling contract, along with information about confidentiality, boundaries, and data protection, as well as a short personal information form to complete. This helps us to work safely and professionally together.

From there, we can arrange a suitable date and time for your first session.
