Just by reaching out you’ve already made the first step to start understanding how you feel and working towards feeling better. Counselling can help you understand yourself better and find better coping strategies to deal with the challenges you are facing. My name is Karen, and I work with individuals seeking therapy for anxiety, depression, relationship problems, navigating through loss and low self-esteem.

Practice description

My practice is called Flourish and Thrive Counselling because I believe growth is within you working towards thriving and continual growth and lasting change which I believe is essential for effective therapy.

I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgmental space in my counselling room which is located in Leamington Spa. I also offer sessions outdoors. If you require walk and talk therapy my practice is in close vicinity to a range of lovely parks in the Leamington and Warwick area.

I am a fully qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist with a BSc honours degree from Warwickshire College and University Centre where I trained and now specialise in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I have previously worked for a domestic abuse charity and currently work alongside my private practice in primary and secondary schools providing counselling to children and young people.

CBT is a talking therapy and has been proven to help with a range of mental health problems. I can help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours that are not serving you well and provide you with tools to help you learn and make changes for yourself to help you find positive ways of being and teach you coping strategies.

Please visit my website www.flourishandthrivecounselling.co.uk to see how I work and if I am the right therapist for you.

My first session

Before you decide to come to therapy and to help you decide If you would like to work with me, I offer an initial 20-minute telephone consultation free of charge, The consultation will include your intentions for counselling and whether I am best suited to help you. Choosing the right therapist is important and so the first counselling session will include an initial assessment, where I gather more information for me to gain a deeper understanding of your history and your reasons for coming to therapy, your expectations, and the goals you want to achieve. It also gives you an opportunity to ask any questions or concerns you have about counselling. If you decide that you would like to work with me, we can arrange regular counselling sessions, and discuss a suitable time for you.
