About me and my therapy practice
Counselling for Men – Anxiety, Depression & Baby Loss
I’m Lee, a counsellor specialising in supporting men who feel weighed down by anxiety, depression, or the often-unspoken grief of baby loss. My work is about helping men open up, feel less alone, and start to feel like themselves again.
Do any of these feel familiar?
You’ve lost your spark for life – even sports, music, or time with family no longer feel enjoyable.
You’re often tense, on edge, or snapping at people you care about.
A constant hum of worry or frustration makes it hard to focus or relax.
Anxiety holds you back from applying for jobs, going on courses, or saying yes to opportunities.
You notice the impact on your body – a racing heart, tight chest, poor sleep, digestive issues, or low energy.
You’ve tried to cope on your own, but things feel stuck.
The Impact
Men often keep these struggles private, but anxiety, depression, and baby loss can affect every part of life – relationships, work, confidence, and family. It’s not weakness to seek help; it’s strength.
How Counselling Can Help
Therapy offers you a safe, confidential space to talk openly without judgement. Together we can:
Ease anxiety and reduce that constant sense of tension.
Lift low mood and help you rediscover joy in life.
Process grief, including the hidden pain of baby loss.
Build confidence and resilience for the future.
Support you to feel calmer, lighter, and more in control.
I draw on approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to challenge unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour, and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) to process trauma, PTSD, and painful memories. This means sessions are tailored to what works best for you.
Practice description
A Little About Me
I know first-hand how overwhelming anxiety and depression can be. There was a time in my life when I struggled to leave the house. I felt like a failure at work and at home, constantly frustrated and weighed down with guilt that I wasn’t present for my family. Each day felt like a battle, exhausting just to get through.
With the right help, things changed. Today my life feels rich, meaningful, and joyful. I have strong friendships, a fulfilling family life, and I run my own business doing work I love. I feel confident, calm, and able to face challenges without being consumed by them. At home I’m more present, kinder, and more connected. I no longer spend energy worrying about how others see me or what the future holds.
Your Future
Therapy can give you the same freedom. With counselling, you can:
Feel calmer, happier, and less anxious in daily life.
Build stronger, more nourishing relationships with family and friends.
Be present in the moment, rather than lost in worry.
Rebuild confidence and self-esteem.
Find the courage to go for that job, course, or activity you’ve been holding back from.
Together, we can work to create the life you want to live – one where anxiety, depression, or grief no longer control you.
My first session
How It Works
Getting started is simple. You can call or email me to arrange a free 15-minute phone consultation where we talk about what’s going on for you and decide if counselling feels right.
Your First Session
At our first session, I carry out a thorough assessment so I can understand exactly what your difficulties are. Together we’ll create a clear plan of how best to move forward. Depending on your needs, I use a combination of counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). This means therapy is tailored specifically to you.
Setting Goals
We’ll set goals that feel meaningful and valuable to you – whether that’s easing anxiety, lifting depression, processing trauma, or building confidence in everyday life.
Ongoing Sessions
In each session I use an outcome rating scale to check in on how things are going. This helps us see your progress and adapt the way we work if needed, so you get the best results possible.
My Approach
I’m passionate about working with men and empowering them to live calmer, happier, and more fulfilling lives. Clients often describe me as calm, kind, compassionate, non-judgmental, and knowledgeable. I always work at your pace, creating a positive therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, supported, and understood.
