About me and my therapy practice
Hello and welcome. I am a qualified Psychotherapeutic Counsellor and work with both current life problems as well as longer-term issues.
Life can feel overwhelming at times - whether we've reached a point where stress and concerns have been building, we're struggling to see the light at the end of the tunnel, or we're feeling stuck with recurring patterns and undermining beliefs. Exploring your concerns in a supportive and confidential setting can offer a new perspective, helping you gain understanding and acceptance, as well as enabling you to work towards your desired changes.
Whilst there is no one size fits all approach to psychotherapy, I believe that feeling seen, heard and valued are at the core of the therapeutic process, and I aim to adapt to your needs. Often, we may not fully realize how our relationships and life experiences have shaped us - and continue to shape us. In therapy we can explore the underlying beliefs and past experiences that may be behind your current challenges. Together we can work towards putting them behind — or finding acceptance rather than struggle against them.
Passionate about mental health and personal growth, I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where we can explore your experiences at your own pace. I work with clients from diverse and international backgrounds and have particular experience working with mood, anxiety as well as identity and family related issues.
Practice description
My Background
Originally from Switzerland, I have worked and studied in several countries and I am passionate about life in multi-cultural society. A creative and motivated personality, my professional background is in music and television production and I have a holistic approach to life's challenges, including personal growth, spirituality and self-expression.
As a counsellor with the NHS, ward volunteer at the Highgate Mental Health Centre and as a bereavement counsellor with Caris Islington, I have worked with a wide range of concerns such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, physical/mental health, stress, self-harm, work related issues, as well as chronic mental health conditions, autism and learning difficulties in my role as a support worker.
Taking this first step can feel daunting and I offer a free introductory phone call to explore any questions and concerns you may have and how we can work collaboratively.
I offer counselling in person as well as via Video and Telephone in English, German and Swiss-German.
My professional orientation
I work with an integrative approach, combining person-centred and psychodynamic models, which helps to explore both present as well as past relationships and experiences and how they have shaped us.
