About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Counsellor, EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) Practitioner, and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner, with experience working with sexual trauma and what is often described as complex mental health issues. I support children, young people, and adults within a safe, compassionate, and inclusive space. My practice also has wheelchair access.

I work integratively, adapting a person-centred approach to meet the unique needs of each individual. This may include working creatively or incorporating psycho education, particularly when supporting trauma recovery.

My way of working focuses on helping clients understand and manage their emotions, thoughts, and behaviours by reconnecting mind, body, and soul, rather than treating these separately.

When supporting clients through traumas, I believe that trauma is not what happens to us, but what happens inside us as a result of what we鈥檝e experienced. When we begin to understand ourselves more deeply, we can embrace our journey through life with greater self-compassion and awareness.

Alongside counselling, I offer EFT (tapping therapy), which involves gently tapping on specific pressure points to support the body鈥檚 natural energy system and promote emotional balance.

Matrix Reimprinting is an advanced form of EFT that helps to gently access and reframe past memories that may still be impacting you in the present. It works by connecting with the part of you that experienced the event, allowing for the release of stored emotions and the creation of new, supportive beliefs. This process can help reduce emotional intensity, foster self-compassion, and support lasting healing by integrating those experiences into your sense of self in a healthier, more empowering way.

For those wanting to explore healing through creativity, I also provide music therapy sessions to deepen connection to self.

Practice description

My practice provides a safe, understanding, and confidential space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. I work with both children & young people and adults, supporting a wide range of issues including trauma (such as rape and sexual abuse), bereavement, completed suicide, self-esteem, depression, anxiety, PTSD, parental challenges, and the everyday stresses that life can bring.

I also have experience working with individuals living with neurodiversity and mental health challenges, including autism, ADHD, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder (BPD), psychosis, and learning difficulties. My aim is to create an inclusive environment that respects difference and meets each person exactly where they are.

Through our work together, clients often gain a deeper understanding of themselves, improved emotional regulation, and the ability to respond to life鈥檚 challenges with greater clarity, self-awareness, and resilience. Therapy with me is not about 鈥渇ixing鈥 who you are, but about helping you to reconnect with your inner strength, process what has been difficult, and move towards a more balanced and fulfilled life.

My first session

Beginning therapy can sometimes feel daunting, so I aim to make the first session as comfortable and transparent as possible. During our initial session, I will complete a counselling assessment with you to ensure that counselling and my way of working is the most appropriate form of support for your needs at this time.

This assessment allows me to gain a deeper understanding of your background, current experiences, and goals for therapy. It鈥檚 also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share what feels important, and get a sense of how I work.

If you decide to continue after the assessment, we will go through a counselling agreement together. This outlines our mutual responsibilities within the therapeutic relationship, including details around fees, session length, confidentiality, cancellations, and non-attendance.

The first session is ultimately about building trust, ensuring you feel safe and supported, and beginning to establish the foundation for our work together.

About me and my therapy practice

I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor who works from a person-centred approach, offering a supportive and reflective space for practitioners to explore their work and professional growth. I have over six years of experience as a counsellor, and while my foundation is person-centred, I work integratively to meet the needs of each individual supervisee.

My experience spans working with children, young people, and adults, and I bring particular expertise in trauma, including sexual abuse and complex mental health presentations. However, I also have experience supporting practitioners working with a wide range of issues across various settings.

I believe that choosing the right supervisor is an important and personal decision. It鈥檚 essential to find someone you feel drawn to and who can support you in the way you need. I value openness and honesty in the supervisory relationship and will always be transparent about my own limits of proficiency or knowledge. If I feel I may not be the right fit, I will discuss this respectfully to ensure you are supported to find the supervision that best serves your development and practice.

Practice description

Supervision is a space for reflection, growth, and support, a place where you can bring your whole self as a practitioner. My aim as a supervisor is to create a safe, collaborative, and non-judgmental environment where you feel able to explore your client work, professional development, and emotional responses with openness and honesty.

I work from a person-centred foundation, integrating other approaches where helpful to meet your individual learning style and stage of professional development. Whether you are newly qualified, in training, or an experienced therapist, I tailor supervision to your needs, helping you develop confidence, clarity, and self-awareness in your practice.

You can expect our sessions to be reflective and supportive, with space to celebrate your strengths, explore challenges, and maintain ethical and safe practice. I encourage curiosity and self-compassion, believing that good supervision should nurture both your professional competence and your wellbeing.

My role is to walk alongside you, offering guidance, perspective, and encouragement while promoting autonomy and self-trust. I believe the supervisory relationship works best when built on mutual respect, transparency, and shared commitment to growth  for both the practitioner and the people we support.

My first session

During our first session, we will take time to get to know each other and explore what you are looking for in supervision. I will carry out an initial supervision assessment to understand your background, level of experience, areas of practice, and what you hope to gain from our work together.

This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, discuss your expectations, and get a feel for my style of supervision. Together, we鈥檒l explore how best to structure our sessions to support your development and meet your professional requirements.

If you are happy to continue, we will go through a supervision agreement, which outlines our shared responsibilities 鈥 including confidentiality, frequency of sessions, professional boundaries, fees, and cancellation policy.

The first session is about establishing a foundation of trust, openness, and clarity, so that you feel confident and supported as we begin our supervisory relationship.
