Availability

I am currently available to work with clients online or over the phone. I plan to return to in-person sessions in the near future. I understand that finding a suitable time can sometimes be challenging. While I also strive to maintain a healthy work-life balance, I do my best to offer session times that are convenient for you.

About me and my therapy practice

I work in a way that’s open, warm, and down-to-earth. It’s important to me that you feel safe, accepted and able to be yourself in our sessions. I know that starting therapy  or even just reaching out can feel like a big step, especially if things feel overwhelming or uncertain.  I offer a free 15 minute consultation, so you can get a sense of whether we’re a good fit.

My approach is integrative, which means I draw on different therapeutic theories and ideas to shape our work together, depending on what you need. These include Person-Centred Therapy, Attachment Theory and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).Your needs, experiences, goals, and preferences are always at the heart of the therapy. This is your space, and we’ll work together in a way that feels right and comfortable for you.

At the heart of my practice is the relationship we build together. I bring acceptance, kindness, honesty and genuine care into the room and I’m always rooting for you. Whether you're struggling with something specific or just have a sense that things aren’t quite right, we can explore it together, at your pace.

Practice description

I offer a calm, supportive, and confidential space where you can feel safe to be yourself and explore whatever is on your mind. My approach is integrative, which means sessions can be tailored to your unique needs. I believe moving away from a ‘one size fits all’ model helps make therapy more meaningful and effective.

Building trust, openness, and a genuine collaborative relationship is really important to me. I want you to feel comfortable and supported throughout our work together. I offer free initial consultations so you can ask any questions and see if I’m the right fit for you. Currently, I provide therapy over the phone, online, and walk-and-talk outdoor sessions. I’m also happy to offer flexible appointment times to fit around your life.

I have experience supporting people through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, low mood, trauma, grief, self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, identity, health concerns, and stress. I have a special interest in grief and bereavement, backed by in-depth research I’ve conducted, which is currently under review for publication.

Alongside my private practice, I work as a university lecturer in counselling and psychotherapy. This role helps me stay up-to-date with the latest knowledge and fuels my passion for supporting and mentoring future therapists.

My first session

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to share what’s brought you to therapy. It begins with an 'assessment' - a gentle conversation where I’ll ask about your background, what you’re experiencing right now, and what you hope to get from therapy.

This assessment isn’t about judging or diagnosing, but about creating a space where you feel heard, accepted, and understood. It helps me understand you as a whole person; your feelings, experiences, and what matters most to you so that we can work together in a way that truly fits your needs.

There’s no pressure to share more than you feel comfortable with. This session is also your chance to ask any questions about how I work and to see if we feel like a good fit. I want you to feel safe and supported from the very beginning.
