About me and my therapy practice
I have dedicated over 13 years of my career to working in a range of mental health and therapeutic services, which has left me with a variety of therapeutic skills and experience, no obstacle is too big or small. Alongside this, my lived experience gives me an intimate understanding of the importance of culturally sensitive practice, which is why it is stitched into the fabric of my approach.
My journey began working with older people who were struggling to find meaning and purpose in a new way of living. I then went on to work in addictions and psychosis, before doing crisis work. After I worked in these areas I specialised in working with anxiety, depression and general stress, which is where I gained a qualification in guided self-help, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Since then, I went on to study Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy which includes Existentialism, Mindfulness-Based CBT, Humanistic, Gestalt, Psychodynamic and Narrative Therapy.
My studies add to the foundation for my work which is pluralistic/integrative, meaning I tailor therapy to fit around you rather than making you fit into a therapy.
I also believe that therapy should feel exciting and engaging as well as providing a space to safely reflect, challenge and explore deeper rooted concerns. I have a particular interest in mixed identity, culture and transitions, however my services are open to all.
Throughout our journey, we will continuously review our work to ensure you are still benefiting from our route; and we will make adaptations when needed. The most important part is to hear your voice, as this will be the guide for our work.
