About me and my therapy practice
I am a professionally trained Psychosynthesis transpersonal counsellor and registered member of the British Association of Counselling Psychotherapy (MÍø±¬ÃÅ). My counselling is helpful if you are experiencing an emotional, existential, or practical problem that you cannot resolve on your own. I am independent from your situations and relationships, and support you to find and live your own solutions. I draw on my training, experience, and knowledge, including of evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), to effectively blend interventions to meet your needs, moment to moment, session by session.
Our sessions help you learn about who you are, how you came to be who you are, what your dreams and desires are, what internal thoughts, feelings, defences, behaviours, and circumstantial realities prevent you accepting and expressing your strengths, gifts and talents, of becoming more of who you are and want to be; it’s a place to learn, experiment with new ways, and practise new behaviours and choices.
I support you to talk through what is going on for you, confidentially. Self-knowledge and self-acceptance are fundamentally important to a greater sense of self, increased confidence, and capacity to live well.
For couples, I provide a safe, supportive space to talk through the things affecting your relationship. I support you to practise ways to overcome these, and to communicate effectively so you can move forward in your relationship. I give you both the opportunity to be heard and to hear each other, perhaps in a new way, so you can explore your issues and challenges. I help you understand how you each impact your relationship. I support you to learn ways to manage conflicts and differences constructively, and develop more compassionate ways of relating. I help you to reconnect with and build on your strengths as a couple so your relationship can grow and be mutually enjoyable, or so you can separate amicably.

My first session
For individual therapy: The first step is for you to contact me by email or phone to arrange an initial assessment.
In the initial assessment you can tell me what brings you to counselling. You can see how comfortable you feel with me, and ask me any questions you may have about therapy. I will be asking more questions than I would usually in order to find out about you and what is affecting you.
By the end of this initial assessment, you may have a good sense of whether you want to work with me, or you might want some time to think it over. If we agree to work together, we will continue the therapy once a week, at the same time each week.
The initial assessment is 50 minutes (£60).
For couples therapy: The first step is for you to contact me by email or phone. We will have a brief chat to see what you are seeking from counselling. We will arrange an initial assessment session for as soon as possible.
In the initial assessment session you can see how comfortable you feel with me, as we begin to see what brings you to therapy. It’s important that you feel you can trust me and want to work with me.
If we agree to work together, we will continue the therapy once a week, at the same time each week. You may choose to commit to 6 sessions and see if that is enough for you. You may choose to start open-ended.
The initial assessment session is 60 minutes (£70).
