About me and my therapy practice
People come to therapy for many different reasons, there could be something specific that has happened that you need support with or there could be a general sense of feeling unhappy, lost or stuck and wanting to understand more deeply what it is that has been causing you difficulties, be it issues in relationships, anxieties, fears or confusing feelings.Psychotherapy can feel daunting initially and be a difficult process but also one that gives you the opportunity to talk through feelings and thoughts which may have felt too overwhelming to express or manage. I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where at your own pace we can work together to uncover and make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.
Practice description
My approach is psychodynamic which involves thinking about earlier experiences in your relationships or environment. I aim to explore with you how these may be linked to what is happening in your life in the present, how relationships or experiences may have shaped how you relate to people or how you think, feel or behave. This can help to uncover what you may not have been aware of, obstacles which can be linked to the past and need understanding in order to move forward in your life.
My first session
If you would like to find out more about me or how I work, please do get in touch via email. Following this we can arrange an initial conversation of around 15 minutes either online or by telephone.
This gives you an opportunity to briefly outline what you are hoping to get help with in therapy and for me to consider if I can help you at this time.
The first session would be a 50 minute consultation where we would further explore what brings you to therapy. We would then think together about whether it feels right for you to work with me.
