About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified Integrative Psychotherapist and Life Coach with a holistic approach. I don’t believe that one size fits all so I employ an integrated style, drawing upon psychodynamic, humanistic, Jungian, cognitive behavioural and existential principles, all underpinned by a Transpersonal framework. I work intuitively and utilise a variety of tools but I also have a very practical approach and really champion my clients.
I felt compelled to train and work as a psychotherapist having gone through a family crisis and early bereavement, where psychotherapy provided me with the much-needed turning point to change my life for the better. As a result, I believe that it is never too late to reclaim your personal power.
Prior to undertaking a five-year training and qualifying as a psychotherapist, I worked in the media for two decades, producing films for the charity Mind, Kick It Out and Peace One Day. I also worked in wellness publishing, promoting an assortment of prominent psychotherapist and wellbeing authors for Watkins Publishing. Before this, I ran a coaching company which worked with young people in schools building their self-esteem, resilience and honing their interview skills.
I have experience of working across a broad range of issues including: anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship or family difficulties, career stress and career change, OCD, adverse childhood experiences, bereavement, loneliness and have achieved successful outcomes with clients who have turned their lives around.
As well as talking therapy, I utilise a number of tools including: visualisations, behavioural experiments, inner child work, vision boards, dream work and chair work. I occasionally incorporate life coaching in relation to goal setting but only if the client has requested it.
Practice description
Before undertaking therapy, I will send you a questionnaire to fill out which helps provide me with a picture of current issues and your therapeutic goals.
The first session will be spent going through these questions to get as detailed a picture as possible of your life: what you are struggling with, your childhood, health issues, relationship and work history and also your previous experience of therapy. Subsequent sessions will be spent addressing these issues and anything else that’s important to you. The duration of time we work together is entirely open-ended, some clients come on a short-term basis for a few months, others have stayed for years.
The session itself is 50 minutes long. It will take place at the same time each week, either at a private clinic in Wimpole Street or online if you wish. Although you are free to leave whenever you wish, I ask for a period of notice that we decide together, usually between 2 and 4 weeks.
I also offer career-focused sessions and one-off coaching for immediate assistance with crises or critical decisions. Please contact me for pricing details.
My first session
I offer a free 15m complimentary zoom or phone session, should you wish to ask any questions ahead of booking in. Please see above. I will create a safe, non-judgemental and open space for you and the sessions are strictly confidential.
