About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Katie. Starting therapy can feel daunting, and finding the right person isn’t always easy. I hope this helps you get a sense of who I am and what working together might feel like.
I offer one-to-one psychotherapy and counselling for adults (18+) at my private practice in Bramhall, Stockport. Sessions are available face to face in a private garden office or online via Microsoft Teams.
How I work
Personal therapy has been a meaningful part of my life, and that experience shapes how I work. I know how vulnerable it can feel to begin therapy, even when you’re ready for things to change, so we’ll go at a pace that feels right for you.
I believe our collaborative relationship is central to therapy feeling safe, meaningful, and effective. I provide a nurturing, confidential, and honest space where you can talk about your experiences, without judgment.
I take an active role in sessions, offering insight, reflection, and gentle challenge, while also allowing space and silence when needed. I won’t tell you what to do but will be alongside you as you make sense of your experiences.
Therapeutic approach
I primarily use Transactional Analysis (TA), a talking therapy that explores how early experiences shape who we are today. By linking past and present patterns, TA helps increase self-awareness and supports lasting positive change.
Areas of focus
People-pleasing & boundaries • Perfectionism & overthinking • Anxiety & depression • Emotional vulnerability • Grief & loss •
Support for parents and carers
Alongside my general practice, I offer therapy for mums, dads, birth parents, and carers. Parenting can bring joy, but also feelings like rage, anxiety, guilt, or loss of identity. These experiences are normal, but they don’t have to be a daily struggle.
I offer space to understand what feels difficult and to reconnect with yourself, so you can feel calm, more confident, and more able to enjoy time with your children.
