About me and my therapy practice

Counselling is all about you rather than me; however, our relationship is central to you enabling your therapy goals, so it is important that you have some information to guide your thoughts.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings safely, bring awareness, and help you achieve whatever change you are looking for. It may be that you have recently experienced a loss or change in your life. You may feel lost, stuck, anxious, depressed, feel you've lost part of yourself, or are worried about the future. Or maybe something from your past is affecting you now, and you don't know how to cope or move forward.

Our relationship may help you through these changes, find a stronger sense of self and help you deal with your future more confidently. This may mean we talk about your childhood to see how that may affect your thought processes now, or it may be that we explore your current relationships or talk about how you feel in the here and the now and consider what tools and resources may help you currently. We can discuss what will be most beneficial to you and tailor your therapy appropriately. I’m also a Hypnotherapist and EMDR therapist and can weave this into your counselling where appropriate.

I have over 20 years of experience in helping develop and encourage people's potential and have undertaken extensive training to support my counselling practice, having worked both in charity settings and private practice. I personally understand how difficult life can sometimes be and how we can't always cope on our own and need additional support. Sometimes feelings can be overwhelming, and you can’t share them with those around us. Our relationship aims to give you that support, even if that is support you have never experienced

Life is a journey, and sometimes it’s easier when someone walks that journey with you. If you are ready to take that step, I would like to support and empower you.

I look forward to meeting you!

About me and my therapy practice

I offer supervision based on my relational philosophy, holding the supervisory alliance at the heart and soul of supervision. I am especially interested in supervising trainees, newly qualified counsellors and those developing their private practices. I recognise that the quality of our relationship and a concentration on personal and professional aspects determine whether supervision is successful for you.

My integrative counselling modality enables me to work with various counsellors from different training backgrounds. Similarly, I use an integrated supervisory modality influenced by Hawkins and Shohet's seven-eyed model. This ensures supervision remains holistic and explores many aspects of the work, acknowledging that many factors can be impactful. I aim to create an arena of trust and safety to explore the client's work together, supporting both you and your work, exploring where needed to develop the therapeutic relationship and working towards therapeutic goals in the client's best interest.

I am a qualified supervisor with a Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision, including online and telephone work. I continue to work as a supervisor for a local college and charity placement providers, alongside seeing counsellors individually and in group settings
