About me and my therapy practice
We all need support at some point in life. Difficult times can leave us feeling stuck, doubting ourselves, anxious or low. You may have coped for a while, but sometimes you need something more.
Therapy provides a safe, confidential space to reflect, process emotions, and reconnect with your strengths. Many doubt therapy will help, which is understandable when you've not tried it before. My role is to offer a calm, open environment where you can explore your concerns at your pace.
I have worked in personal change and development for 30 years, first as a minister of religion before retraining as a hypnotherapist, mindfulness coach, counsellor, and psychotherapist. I have supported people facing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, relationship difficulties, & life transitions.
My approach is grounded in Transactional Analysis (TA), a way of understanding our minds, thought patterns, emotions and relationships. My perspective is shaped by years of experience supporting others through life’s challenges, as well as my experiences as a husband, father, and business owner.
I work with people from all walks of life; professionals navigating workplace challenges, individuals managing change, and those feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. Whether facing a specific difficulty or seeking greater clarity, therapy can help you move forward with confidence.
Couples
Relationships bring meaningful connections and challenges. Our individual histories, expectations, and communication styles can create tension. Therapy provides space to improve understanding, strengthen bonds or navigate change.
Through TA, I use practical models to make sense of thoughts, emotions, and interactions. Where relationships are changing or ending, I focus on helping each person move forward with clarity and self-respect.
Taking the first step can feel daunting, but therapy is a collaborative process. If you are feeling stuck or overwhelmed, being heard and supported is the first step to change.
Practice description
I work from The Abbots Ripton Clinic where I have been based for the past 22 years.
Grove Farm Offices is located in a peaceful corner of the picturesque village of Abbots Ripton, a short drive from Huntingdon.
The lovely oak-beamed rooms offer a quiet and relaxing environment which lends to the work that all our therapists do.
If you contact me by or email, or if you call the clinic number (01487 773 088) one of our clinic admin team members will take your details and organise a time for us to chat on the phone before arranging an appointment.
Our team of dedicated therapists and friendly admin team treat each person with respect and we hold to the highest standards of care for each and every person who visits the clinic. You will receive a warm welcome and be offered a drink, such as tea, coffee or water when you arrive.
My first session
I offer a free 15-20 minute telephone call to discuss your situation so that you get an opportunity to see if I am the right therapist for you and to ensure that I think I can help.
