About me and my therapy practice

My name is Sharon.

I am a qualified, experienced Person-centred Counsellor psychotherapist  working with an integrative approach.

My lifelong fascination has been with human resilience – specifically, how people manage through life's toughest moments. I'm told I have a warm presence that helps others relax. My core values include honesty, authenticity, a strong sense of empathy, and a commitment to being open-minded and non-judgmental."

I am committed to providing a safe, warm, inclusive  and affirming space for all clients and communities and am dedicated to empowering individuals, to unlock their potential, build confidence and live authentically.

I currently work as a remote counsellor psychotherapist for a global medical insurance company, and in private practise.

My experience spans a diverse array of presenting issues, such as anxiety, depression, bereavement and loss, trauma, low mood, sadness, low self-esteem, and shame. I also specialize in working with areas of abuse, including narcissistic abuse, as well as life transitions, relationship difficulties, and health issues like living with physical pain, navigating menopause and living with or recovering from cancer.

Furthermore, I have significant experience providing support to adopted adults and anyone impacted by adoption.

This includes supporting clients to navigate identity, gender, sexuality and life transitions within the LGBGTQ community.

My personal experiences

My passion lies in helping clients to cultivate self discovery, self- love and autonomy, and with helping them to thrive.

How my counselling may help you.

It's fair to say that most people will, at some point, find life to be stressful, overwhelming and challenging.

Whatever you are going through, I offer a compassionate space where you do not have to explain yourself-where 'who you are' is welcomed and supported, without any form of  judgement.

Practice description

Where do we start?

In our sessions, you'll find a supportive and confidential, non-judgemental  environment  where you can freely express yourself.

Working together, we'll explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, gently uncovering the challenges you face and developing effective coping strategies.

My first session

When you get in touch, we'll arrange a mutually convenient time for an initial 20-minute chat. This first session is free of charge and gives us both a chance to explore what you're currently finding difficult, as well as what you hope to gain from counselling or psychotherapy. We'll also discuss what a "working agreement" between us might look like. If you feel comfortable and wish to continue, we'll then schedule your first counselling session.

As we work together, we'll explore deeper into your thoughts and feelings, making sense of the challenges you're facing. My aim is to support you in understanding what's going on for you, to identify effective coping strategies, and to develop practical tools that genuinely support you.

Counselling can significantly increase your self-awareness and self-esteem, guide you in making important life decisions, and offer crucial support through periods of change or difficulty.

I currently offer sessions remotely via video or phone, and in-person where possible. Sessions can be open-ended or for a set number of weeks, depending on your individual needs.
