About me and my therapy practice
I’m an experienced existential psychotherapist based in Farringdon and London Bridge who specialises in working with adults and couples. I am particularly interested in the field of attachment and relational issues, as well as in addressing unhealthy or maladaptive behaviours, managing difficult, overwhelming emotions, and learning to navigate uncertainty.
I have worked widely with individuals battling anxiety, depression, low mood, low self-esteem, and who are feeling overwhelmed by the pressures of juggling multiple responsibilities, as well as those with complex and life-limiting health conditions, and/or are overcoming trauma.
My background is in the field of trauma, substance misuse, and in providing support for those affected by sexual, emotional, or domestic violence or abuse, making me well-equipped to handle complex and interconnected issues.
Training, qualifications & experience:
Qualifications: Master's in existential psychotherapy and counselling.
I currently work in private practice and with Vitus Wellbeing where I work with adults and couples.
I have in the past also worked with:
Women in Prison: a charity working with women impacted by the criminal justice system.
The Cassel Centre: an organisation in South East London offering low cost therapy.
Practice description
As an existential psychotherapist, I take a pragmatic approach to therapy, encouraging clients to accept life's limitations and boundaries, whilst at the same time recognising their potential to grow, evolve, and be shaped by their future choices and actions. I see the benefits of re-examining responses and reactions to past events in order to aid a client's learning and understanding, thereby allowing them to respond more positively to future events.
Throughout my work, my primary aim is to provide a safe, supportive, and reparative therapeutic relationship as clients examine their difficulties and find positive pathways forward. I believe that the relationship between client and therapist, rooted in connection, compassion, reciprocity, and curiosity, can serve as a microcosm of the world around us. Given that individuals always exist in connection with others, a large element of the work is around helping clients to see where they 'fit'.
If you’d like to explore working together, please feel free to contact me for an initial conversation.
