About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Rae, an experienced Person-Centred therapist offering a supportive and compassionate space for you to explore life challenges, difficulties and past issues that can feel tangled, distressing and confusing. Helping you in unpicking thoughts and feelings, feeling heard and working towards the changes and choices you want to see in your life.

Whether you're coming to therapy for the first time or returning after a break, I welcome you as you are. You don't need to have it all figured out - therapy is a space where we can explore the uncertainty together.

Practice description

I draw on a range of therapeutic models to tailor our work to your individual needs, these may include CBT, mindfulness, creative techniques and TA, depending on what best supports your goals.

This collaborative and flexible way of working allows us to explore whatever feels most important to you - whether that’s managing anxiety, alleviating stress, processing past experiences, navigating life transitions or making sense of who you are.

I’ve been in practice for over six years, supporting adults from a wide range of backgrounds with issues such as:

Anxiety and depression

Low self-esteem and self-criticism

Relationship and family difficulties

Identity and self-exploration

Bereavement and loss

Work related stress and burnout

Exploring neurodiversity - self identified or with a diagnosis

Our sessions will be a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can speak openly and honestly. I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, and our work will move at a pace that feels right for you.

Alongside my private practice I also work as a counselling teacher, supporting the next generation of therapists in their personal and professional development. This duel role not only keeps my work grounded and ethical, but also continually deepens my understanding of theory, self-awareness, and reflective practice.

My first session

I offer a free 30 minute introductory telephone consultation initially to find out about you and what you would like to explore, to see whether it feels like it would be a good fit for working together for you and explore questions you might have about counselling.

After the initial consultation we can book in a full session together either in person or online depending on your preferred way of working.

I offer concessionary rates to counselling students studying on a two year professional counselling course.

I offer weekday supervision sessions in person during the day or weekday evenings online.

About me and my therapy practice

I see supervision as a reflective and collaborative process, where therapy work can be explored safely and honestly. I'm an experienced and qualified therapist in private practice and a qualified teacher of counselling, I offer a space where emerging patterns can be explored with curiosity rather than judgment. Supervisees are encouraged to bring not only client work but also ethical dilemmas, professional identity issues, and their emotional responses.

My supervision practice is influenced by Hawkins and Shohet Seven Eyed Model, a relational way of working that allows us to look at the therapeutic process from multiple angles - including relational dynamics, context and parallel process, and can help you feel supported and confident in your practice.

I support both qualified therapists and trainees with a focus on ethical practice, reflective dialogue and professional resilience. I tailor each supervision session to meet your practice needs and work reflectively to explore your area of focus, whether developmental, explorative or restorative.

I currently supervise a range of practitioners, including Person-Centred, Integrative and Pluralistic therapists working with adults and young people over 18.

I am a trainee supervisor, having completed my training course last year I am gaining my supervisor hours to complete my qualification, as such I am currently offering free online, and reduced cost in person supervision sessions.

Practice description

I offer a relational approach to supervision with a focus on the client, the practitioner and wider context. Supporting you in engaging with theory to help you develop your therapeutic approach and reflective practice, working collaboratively to explore your client work, professional development, ethical considerations and your well-being.

My style is warm, grounded and gently challenging. I aim to build relationships based on mutual respect and trust, where you feel safe to bring both your strengths and your uncertainties.

I work integratively with a foundation of Person-Centred, and I am experienced in teaching both theoretical approaches, utilising various creative ways of working including sandtray, pictures and imagery. Using these approaches to create a space where as a supervisee you can reflect deeply on your work, recharge, and remain ethically attuned.
