About me and my therapy practice

I am an experienced Bereavement and General Counsellor offering short term and long term sessions in Surbiton, East Molesey, online and outdoors in Kingston-upon-Thames.

There are times in the course of our lives when we feel that something isn't right but it can be difficult to talk to friends or family - or we simply need another type of conversation.

I have worked for several years now, supporting people from a range of cultural and social backgrounds through some of their lives' toughest challenges: unexpected and traumatic bereavements and other losses, big transitions, feelings of anxiety and overwhelm that don't seem to shift, adjusting to living in a foreign country, difficulties in asserting boundaries with family or friends, loneliness ...

Working with me means working together to try and unpick your struggles, trying to figure out what the root cause can be and how to move forward in a way that fits who you are, what you believe in and what you want.

While counselling may not necessarily offer a "quick fix", it can be truly life changing and an invaluable source of support.

My training is "Integrative Relational", which means (1) that my worked is supported by a variety of theoretical approaches - which helps to tailor my work to your needs and (2) that I am very interested in the patterns of your relationship to yourself, the people around you and the wider world. It also means that I believe that the quality of the relationship between you (client) and me (therapist) is key to the success of therapy.

Feel free to contact me by email for a quick phone conversation to help you decide whether you would like to start working with me.

Practice description

My face to face sessions are held at The Practice in East Molesey.  Please note that my therapy room is located on the first floor and that there is no lift in the building. Free parking is available nearby, please enquire.  I participate in The Practice low cost therapy service, Community Counselling Service (CCS).

I also offer Walk & Talk therapy in Bushy Park / Home Park and Richmond Park. Walk and Talk can be a great way to have your counselling session if you like the outdoors or want to reconnect with nature. It could also suit you if you like processing your thoughts and feelings while walking - or simply if you are looking for "another" way to do therapy.

I offer sessions online (Zoom).

My first session

I offer a reduced fee of £60 for the first session.

This initial session together will provide us with the opportunity to see whether we are a good fit. I know that choosing the right therapist is not easy and I will do my best to answer your questions and explain how I work.

If you decide to give it a shot, we can contract for 4-6 sessions and review our work at the end. I am also happy to offer open ended therapy - with regular reviews on the way.

If you are after a concession place, please enquire as I believe in making counselling accessible.
