About me and my therapy practice
网爆门
Hi, I’m Dr Cloie Parfitt, and I offer a therapy space where difference isn’t just accepted but welcomed and valued. My approach is integrative, which means I draw from person-centred and psychodynamic therapy while also bringing in creative, somatic, and mindfulness-informed practices where helpful. This flexibility allows us to shape our work around what feels most supportive for you, rather than following a rigid structure.
I work in a trauma-informed and neurodiversity-affirming way, with an understanding that every person’s experiences, strengths, and struggles are unique. My aim is to provide an online space that feels safe, accessible, and affirming — a place where you don’t need to mask or fit into expectations, but can come as you are.
My style is gentle, collaborative, and attuned. We might look at how past experiences shape your present, explore creative ways of expression, or use practical strategies to help with regulation and self-understanding. Above all, therapy with me is led by your pace and your needs, giving space for you to explore, reflect, and grow in ways that feel right for you.
Alongside individual therapy, I also facilitate groups for late-identified autistic adults. This is work I deeply value, as it offers people the chance to connect with others who share similar experiences and to find a sense of belonging and solidarity. These groups bring together therapeutic support, community connection, and psychoeducation, creating space to better understand yourself, reduce isolation, and celebrate identity in the company of others who understand.
Alongside my therapeutic practice, I deliver neurodiversity-informed inclusivity training for universities and organisations, and provide neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed training for mental health professionals. This reflects my commitment to building environments — both inside and outside the therapy room — where sensitive and neurodivergent people are understood and supported to thrive.
The use of the title Dr in this directory listing relates to the member’s doctorate qualification. However, this does not imply a general medical qualification.
Practice description
I often work with adults and young people 鈥 especially those who are late-diagnosed or exploring neurodivergence 鈥 who want to better understand their experiences and find more sustainable, authentic ways of living. Many of my clients are autistic, ADHD, or otherwise neurodivergent, and value having a space where they can be fully themselves without needing to mask or explain. I also work with clients who don鈥檛 identify as neurodivergent but who are looking for a compassionate, non-judgemental space to explore what matters to them.
In our work together, you can expect me to listen deeply and without judgement, to reflect back what I hear, and to explore with you the patterns and experiences that may be shaping your life. My approach is rooted in person-centred values of acceptance and authenticity, alongside psychodynamic ideas that consider how your history and relationships influence who you are today. Where useful, I may introduce creative exercises, reflective prompts, or gentle body-based awareness to support self-understanding and balance.
Sessions move at your pace, and there鈥檚 no expectation to share more than you feel ready for. Together, we might explore identity, strengthen self-compassion, improve emotional regulation, or make sense of past and present experiences in ways that feel safe and manageable. My role isn鈥檛 to 鈥渇ix鈥 you, but to walk alongside you as you connect more deeply with yourself and create a life that feels authentic, nourishing, and aligned with your values and what matters most to you.
My first session
I offer a free 20-minute consultation as a gentle first step, giving us a chance to meet, talk through what鈥檚 bringing you to therapy, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
If you choose to begin therapy, I鈥檒l invite you to complete a short assessment to help me understand a little more about your background and needs. The first six sessions are a settling-in period, where we take time to get to know one another and explore your story, current challenges, and what you hope for from therapy.
At the end of this stage, we can reflect together on how the process feels so far. If I feel that another type of support may serve you better, I鈥檒l talk this through with you and suggest other options that might be more suitable.
