About me and my therapy practice
I am able to work with most mental health issues such as; anxiety, depression, worrying, fears, low self esteem, low self worth or just generally feeling you would like some guidance in where to go with life. I have also have experience and training working with Autism and ADHD. Overall there are many reasons people seek therapy, maybe you feel sad, have panic attacks, struggle with social anxiety or struggling with family and relationship issues?
A little about why I decided to become a counsellor. Having experienced what it felt like to be totally overwhelmed with negative self worth and low self esteem, seeing a therapist I was able to work through all the things that were bothering me and to enable me to feel free and allow me to live my life to the fullest. Going to see a counsellor was such a positive experience for me that I felt inspired to want to help others. It is because I have been where you are that I understand how hard it can be to make the first move to try therapy and open up to a complete stranger.
Practice description
The counselling I provide is a warm, safe and non-judgmental environment for you to explore whatever has brought you into counselling. Being an integrative counsellor means I am trained in a range of therapeutic practices which are; Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred and Psychodynamic which can be tailored to your needs. Being an integrative therapist means I can offer flexibility with the different therapeutic models. An example of how this could look is you would start your sessions talking about situations and the feelings they have brought up. You may then decide to look towards what could have caused these feelings, begin to look for ways to cope or challenge any negative thoughts or behaviours. Also with the use of guided imagery and relaxation we could help build more confidence with any goals you would like to achieve. Or you may choose just one of the models which you feel would best fit for you.
I have particular interests in Fertility, Perinatal Mental Health and Birth Trauma. Perinatal mental health covers a wide range if issues relating to conception, pregnancy and post natal, such as post natal depression and anxiety. To support my existing experience I have trained in specialist fertility counselling with The British Infertility Counselling Association (BICA). I have experience working with a range of issues such as IVF, pregnancy anxiety, post natal anxiety and depression and birth trauma.
My first session
I offer a free introductory phone call lasting 20-30 minutes. In this call we can discuss what you are looking for, you can ask me any questions, I can tell you about how I work and we can check if we feel we would be a good match. I like to cover as much of the admin side of things before your first session so we can get straight in.
The first session is an opportunity for you to talk in much more detail about what brings you to counselling and we can discuss what way of working could fit best for what you are looking for as well as introduce you to some of the interventions I use.

Practice description
What would your supervision look like with me? As well as a strong regard for the ethics associated with counselling and supervision, I believe in empowering people to be the best version of the person they feel they are or capable of being.
Why did I want to supervise counsellors? I have been incredibly lucky to have a supportive supervisor and I like to be able to offer others the same. I value the importance of supervision, I always look forward to it and feel refreshed and ready to continue trusting my own judgement or open to challenging in new or different ways. I feel it is a privilege to also be able to offer this experience to others.
My first session
I offer a free introductory session for us to get to know one another and see if we feel working together would be a good fit. This gives plenty of opportunities to discuss your style of counselling and what you would like to get from your supervision sessions.
