About me and my therapy practice

Are you a young person or young adult feeling anxious, low, or just not quite yourself lately?

Or perhaps you鈥檙e a parent or carer, worried about your child鈥檚 mental health and unsure where to turn?

I know how challenging things can feel for young people right now, whether it鈥檚 school/university stress, anxiety, identity worries, or just feeling overwhelmed by life. And for parents and carers, it can be heartbreaking to watch someone you love struggle, especially when support can be difficult to access.

That鈥檚 where I come in. I offer a safe, welcoming space where young people can feel truly heard, accepted, and supported, exactly as they are.

I鈥檓 a person-centred therapist, which means I won鈥檛 tell anyone how they should feel. Instead, I meet them where they are and work at their pace. I bring warmth, honesty and curiosity to every session, and genuinely enjoy getting to know the young people I work with. Building trust and connection is at the heart of my work.

Practice description

Over the past seven years, I鈥檝e supported children, teenagers and young adults in schools, through a bereavement service, and in private practice. I鈥檝e helped clients navigate anxiety, low self-esteem, grief, identity struggles, food and body image issues, self-harm, and the pressures of growing up in today鈥檚 fast-paced world.

I often use creative and practical tools to make counselling feel a little less 鈥渢alk-y鈥 - especially for those who find it hard to open up. Every session is tailored to the individual.

My first session

If you think I might be the right fit for you or your child, I offer a free 20-minute phone or video consultation. There鈥檚 no pressure, it鈥檚 simply a chance to ask questions, share what鈥檚 brought you to therapy, and get a feel for how I work.

If you decide to book a first session, we鈥檒l use that time to gently explore what鈥檚 been happening for you and what you鈥檇 like to get from therapy. I don鈥檛 use formal assessments unless it feels useful, instead I focus on creating a safe, comfortable space where you can talk openly and we can begin to make sense of things together.

For children and young people, I usually gather some brief background information from a parent or carer during the initial consultation call. This helps me understand a little about what鈥檚 been happening before I meet with the child individually. In sessions, I use creative and age-appropriate approaches to help them express themselves in ways that feel natural, comfortable, and safe.

My hope is that from our very first conversation, you鈥檒l feel welcomed, heard, and supported - and leave with a sense of whether this feels like the right next step for you.
