About me and my therapy practice

I have validated and accredited experience of working with clients in a trauma-informed way. My clients have talked about anxiety and depression; family estrangement (which I have a lived experience of) and family patterns; relationships; dissociation; abuse and adverse childhood experiences; traumatic past events; work stresses; struggles with identity and life purpose; bereavement and chronic grief, and much more.

When life becomes difficult you feel confused and disorientated. You spend time trying to figure out feelings of unhappiness, destructive behaviours, and repeated patterns in relationships. You may have unexplained symptoms like panic attacks, or difficulty sleeping, or a lack of motivation and satisfaction at work. You feel stuck and things you took pleasure in now seem pointless and hard work.

My clients have said that they found relief in just having the opportunity to speak impartially, empathically and without a response that suggests a solution. With increased awareness I may challenge your thinking, and ask you to look again at the situation, to develop deeper insight and a new perspective. Solutions arise naturally and you will find yourself making different choices.

At the end of their therapy with me, clients have said they have found the experience beneficial and helpful in bringing about the changes in their lives. I have witnessed improvements in mood within a few sessions, and life changing decisions at the end of their therapy.

Practice description

I am a humanistic trained therapist. Working collaboratively and respectfully from your perspective is appropriate for most life challenges. With a thriving and established practice, I am professional, experienced, and confident in assisting you in expressing what you are going through. You have the opportunity to explore and make sense of it all in your way and without judgement.

I have 5 years of post-qualifying experience. Throughout, I have maintained professional development, including multiple training in the varying impacts of trauma; eating, nutrition and the impacts on mental health and understanding the entire human landscape. Keeping on top of recent research and developments in counselling is important for any therapist. That is why I am returning to the University of Chichester to participate in a research-based Master of Arts. As an outcome, my aim is to offer you a deeper and more philosophical approach to meaning, purpose, identity, and existence.

My first session

Upon initial inquiry I assure you of my warmest welcome and an immediate response. After agreeing an appointment, I will provide you with more details the essential boundaries designed to keep you safe.

I will collect very brief background information from you about what brings you to counselling and what you expect as an outcome of your sessions.

At the beginning of the first session, we will explore any outstanding questions and concerns you may still have, after which and very gently, the work begins.

I assure you of my best attention at all times.
