About me and my therapy practice

I originally built my career within the corporate business sector, latterly with responsibility for workforce development, skills and employability, coaching, and the management of Apprenticeship programmes across multiple sites.

Through this experience, I came to realise that my true passion lay in working directly with people. I found immense fulfilment in supporting individuals as they pursued their goals and in witnessing their growth and success.

This insight prompted me to retrain as a counsellor—a path that complemented my existing coaching skills and enabled me to return to what I valued most: building meaningful connections with people and supporting their personal development.

Since then, I have undertaken additional qualifications, including Counselling Supervision and Reiki Practitioner

I am a Registered Member with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Íø±¬ÃÅ). This means that I work in accordance with the Íø±¬ÃÅ's Ethical Framework, ensuring high standards of professional practice. As a qualified coach, I am also affiliated with the Íø±¬ÃÅ’s Coaching Division.

I have previously worked for several charities across West Yorkshire, supporting clients facing a variety of challenges and am a tutor at a local college, where I teach a variety of counselling courses.

My professional experience also includes coaching staff at different levels within organisations, helping them to achieve their goals both in a business context and on a personal level. I am skilled in designing and delivering workshops and training programmes, working with local businesses to create bespoke solutions that address their specific needs.

Practice description

Across these disciplines, I work primarily in a Person-Centred way, and my core beliefs centre on the idea that every individual possesses the innate capacity to grow, develop, and change, that everyone should have the chance to become the best version of themselves possible.

I place the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work together and offer support as you explore and discover your own way forward.

There may be occasions when the process feels difficult. During these times, I might gently challenge certain beliefs or perceptions that have developed over many years. This will always be approached with empathy and understanding, with the intention of empowering you to make decisions about your own future.

I also recognise that this journey is seldom straightforward. Life often presents us with complex and challenging issues that we must navigate before growth can take place.

For this reason, I believe it is essential to have a supportive environment, a space where you feel secure enough to openly discuss your thoughts and feelings. It is important to have someone you trust, who will listen without judgement, and who can offer understanding as you work through your difficulties. I aim to provide this for you.

My formal qualifications are as follows:

• Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Clinical Supervision (inc. online & telephone working) – currently in training completing client hours

• Level 5 Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring

• Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling

• Level 4 PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)

• Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Skills

• Reiki First & Second Degree (Usui)

• Online & Telephone Counselling Course
