About me and my therapy practice

Experiencing a deep and trusting professional relationship with a therapist, who has no part in your history, can be very freeing and provide a really supportive place to explore troubling and difficult situations and feelings. I offer that experience; focusing on your agenda and moving at a pace you feel comfortable with.

My role in this process is to help you find your own path through your concerns and on the way, guide you in exploring strategies to build and develop your inner resources, which you can then draw on in your future.

Practice description

I adopt a person-centred approach which simply means we focus on what you want to talk about – after all, this is about you. My role is to truly listen, to better understand how life feels for you. I will ask questions that are designed to increase my understanding of your experiences and feelings.

What I won’t do is tell you that I know how you feel, tell you how you should feel or give you advice on how to fix it. I will stay right beside you as we work through whatever is troubling you. Through the process of counselling, we will explore ways to build your inner resources and develop individual and personal approaches that you can take into your future.

My first session

Before you decide if we would work well together, I offer a free initial session. This 30 minute meeting would not commit you to working with me; you might like to think of it a bit like taking a car for a test drive, see how it feels for you.

After that, sessions are 50 minutes every week from my therapy room in East Hanney. This is within easy reach of Abingdon, Didcot and Wantage.

About me and my therapy practice

From my earliest experiences as a Trainee, I have valued Supervision as a rich reservoir for learning and professional growth in addition to being a healing place. A place where I can explore, without judgement, my own uncertainties and emerge renewed, refreshed, and ready to continue offering strong support to my own Clients.

Through my Supervision practice, I am committed to providing Supervision that is ethically grounded, supportive, and reflective.

Practice description

In addition to offering Supervisees all that I offer my Clients, I also draw on Supervision theory, which I pass on where appropriate, to facilitate learning through a balance of reliable support and gentle challenge.

I bring over ten years’ experience as a Person-Centred Counsellor and four years' as a Supervisor, working with many Supervisees in both individual and group settings. I offer Supervision in person, online, and by telephone to qualified Counsellors and Trainees.

My first session

Our initial meeting provides an opportunity for us both to consider whether we feel comfortable working together. During this session, I invite you to share your experience of Client work and Supervision, and to reflect on what you are looking to benefit from in the Supervisory relationship.

There is no charge for this first meeting, and I encourage, where possible, that it takes place in person so we have the opportunity to meet face-to-face.
