About me and my therapy practice
My name is Ella, and I offer therapy online and in person.
Therapy helps us navigate life in its most difficult and troubling moments. In our fast-paced world many of us struggle with feelings of anxiety, stress, depression, overwhelm and loneliness. Perhaps you have experienced significant loss and grief, or you are struggling with important relationships in your life and don’t how to express and communicate your emotions. Sometimes the cause of our feelings is not that clear, but we have a nagging sense that something in our life is not quite right. I can help.
I can help you find clarity, understanding, self-esteem and a way to express yourself and find meaning in an increasingly demanding world. Clients find me kind, honest and insightful. I'm active and present in sessions. I offer thoughts and reflections where appropriate to help you deepen your self-awareness and find self-compassion.
Experiences such as anxiety, stress and depression can be symptoms of a deeper unease. Over time emotions can become trapped or inaccessible to us, and often we harbour hidden thoughts and feelings that have never been said out loud. Together we will build a relationship that allows you to explore and express these parts of yourself. We will empower you to see and to celebrate your whole self, gaining new perspectives and understanding. We will find what works for you.
I also work with couples. I can help you both explore ways you can better communicate, feel seen and heard by each other and nurture your relationship.
The best way to know if we’re a good fit is to have a brief call or an initial session. I offer a completely confidential, non-judgemental and accepting environment whatever your concern may be. The initial session is an opportunity for us to meet, explore what you may need and how we could work together. There is no obligation to make a commitment beyond that.
Practice description
I tend to work with clients on a long-term basis so that we can really get to the source of the struggle, find ways to create healing and deepen your understanding of yourself.
While the past is important, it will not be the only thing we focus on. I work with the here and now; working with feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations.
Having spent 18 years working in the financial sector, I am familiar with the pressures and demands that can come with this line of work and the effects it can have on mental health, putting pressure on close relationships and perhaps leading to a lack of meaning and purpose in life. If this sounds familiar, I can help.
I have an integrative approach and use several modalities depending on what your therapeutic journey may need; Psychodynamic, Psychosynthesis, aspects of Internal Family Systems and Gestalt.
