About me and my therapy practice
Hi there. I am Annabelle a friendly and experienced accredited therapist, working with adults and teenagers. I work using an integrative* approach, all this means is I can tailor the sessions around whatever you bring. I am currently available Monday to Saturday, days and evenings in Chester, Heswall and online. Please feel free to get in touch to see if we can find a time that suits you.
My areas of interest are Anxiety, depression, OCD, childhood abuse/trauma and eating (including emotional eating). I have over the years gained valuable experience in many other areas as well, so just get in touch and let’s see if I am the counsellor for you.
I know how difficult it is to reach out so I will do my best to put you at ease. I will provide a safe and calm space where you will feel heard and together, we will explore what has been going on for you and look for a new way forward that feels more comfortable. I believe strongly in what therapy has to offer and who knows, if you give it a chance it could just be life changing.
I am currently both self-employed and working privately for Bupa talking therapies service. This does mean I am unable to accept Bupa insurance. I previously worked for both Wirral Mind and Childline, so I have gained valuable experience working with all ages.
*Integrative – being an integrative counsellor just means I was trained to work using several different strands of therapy including person-centred, psychodynamic and CBT. I feel this works perfectly for most people as I am a great believer one size rarely fits all.
I am also trained to use the survivor to thriver programme, the only programme that provides a framework for the complex process of healing from childhood abuse.
I offer a free initial meeting either online or by phone which gives us a chance to get to know each other a little before our first session.
My first session
Before you first session I will send you information by email that hopefully covers everything you need to know before we meet.
During your first session we will spend some time going through the counselling agreement together. This gives us a chance to look at what I can offer you as a therapist as well as a chance to look at what you are hoping to get from our time together. I will do my best to put you at ease so going forward you feel comfortable sharing with me whatever you would like to.
Please just feel free to get in touch and ask me any questions you have about therapy and I will do my best to answer them. If I feel I am not the best person for you to work with I will be entirely honest with you as I want you to get the best you can from your journey.
