About me and my therapy practice

I specialise in working with people with anxiety and depression, particularly in the work environment and university student life. Depression and anxiety are often symptoms of deeper distress, so leaning to understand the roots of the immediate problems are important in the healing process, whilst developing healthy ways to cope and manage symptoms for reducing or alleviating immediate distress.


Practice description

I use an integrative therapeutic model to my work, frequently incorporating Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-centered Therapy and Attachment Theory. I believe that a non-judgmental, safe and trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation upon which difficulties can be shared, and where healing and growth can start to take place.

My first session

In our first session, we will spend some time getting to know each other and exploring what has brought you to therapy. I’ll ask for some basic personal and contact information, as well as about your point of contact in case of an emergency. We will go through important practical matters such as confidentiality, boundaries, and our working agreement (or contract), so that you feel clear and comfortable about how we will work together. I will also invite you to complete a short questionnaire called the CORE-10, which helps us get a sense of your wellbeing at the start of therapy. Most importantly, the session will be a chance for you to share what feels important, and for us to begin building a safe, supportive relationship.
