About me and my therapy practice
I understand how heavy life can feel when you鈥檙e carrying the impact of painful experiences, anxiety that never seems to switch off, or a constant inner critic that tells you you鈥檙e not enough. It can leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from who you truly are.
In our sessions, my priority is to create a space where you feel completely safe to bring whatever is on your mind, without judgement or pressure. I listen deeply, with compassion and curiosity, so you don鈥檛 have to carry it all on your own. Together, we gently explore what has shaped you, and begin to release the weight of what you鈥檝e been holding.
Alongside person-centred counselling, I offer EMDR therapy, which can be especially powerful if you鈥檝e experienced trauma, anxiety, or difficult memories that still affect you today. EMDR can help your mind and body process what happened, so that the memories lose their painful intensity and no longer control the present.
Clients often tell me that over time they feel calmer, more confident, and able to approach life with greater ease. You may notice the anxious 鈥渂uzz鈥 quietening, or that you can set boundaries without so much guilt. You might begin to trust yourself again, reconnect with your strengths, and feel a sense of freedom that perhaps hasn鈥檛 been there for years.
Therapy isn鈥檛 about 鈥渇ixing鈥 you. It鈥檚 about helping you find a kinder relationship with yourself, easing the pain of the past, and supporting you to live more fully in the present.
If this speaks to you, I鈥檇 be honoured to walk alongside you on that journey.
Please contact me for more information or to book a session.
Practice description
What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a gentle but powerful type of therapy that helps people process painful or traumatic experiences that may still be affecting them today.
When something overwhelming happens, your mind sometimes struggles to fully process it. The memory can get 鈥渟tuck,鈥 showing up as anxiety, intrusive thoughts, nightmares, or a strong emotional reaction when something reminds you of the past.
In EMDR, we use techniques such as side-to-side eye movements, tapping, or sounds to help your brain reprocess these memories. This doesn鈥檛 erase what happened, but it takes away the intensity 鈥 so the memory becomes something you remember rather than something you relive.
Many people find that EMDR helps reduce the distress linked to trauma, phobias, anxiety, and even low self-esteem. Sometimes EMDR is used on its own, and other times it鈥檚 combined with talking therapy for a more flexible approach.
Clients often describe it as 鈥渇inally being able to let go鈥 of something that鈥檚 been weighing them down for years.
