As a Trauma Counsellor graduating from The Metanoia Institute, I pride myself on fostering a reflective and reflexive relationship with my clients. Merging almost two decades of experience in various safeguarding capacities within the Local Authority鈥攊ncluding the provision of numerous psycho-educational programs and the creation of bespoke safeguarding training鈥擨 am a firm believer in client-led intervention: 鈥榙oing with鈥� and not 鈥榯o鈥�.

Whether related to present-day concerns or deeper-rooted issues, I endeavour to provide the very best and most ethical outcomes for my clients at all times, in accordance with relevant guidelines. By integrating various therapeutic approaches with my expertise as a psychoeducation facilitator in areas such as parenting, domestic abuse, and restorative group work, I have supported clients in becoming empowered and informed on topics including relationship issues, spiritual worldviews, adverse childhood experiences, bereavement, trauma, exploitation, domestic and honour-based harm, and sexual abuse鈥攁ll within a safe and ethical environment.

In addition to my role as an Independent Therapist and Clinical Supervisor, I am privileged to be applying my management skills as a Clinical Lead for a sexual violence charity. I am also a retired Board Trustee for a highly reputable organisation that challenges FGM and so-called 鈥榟onour鈥�-based abuse, and I currently serve as a Practice Lead for the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse.

The initial session serves as an assessment to ensure we establish a shared understanding of your goals and how we will work together. 

If we are both in agreement, we will then formalize our working agreement through a therapeutic contract

The client is invited to complete a core10 assessment, agreement and any risk and safety planning that is required.
